Obama:  Lose -- or -- be Impeached!
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*******************

"   ...    Obama’s loss of nerve and decision to call off a military strike that could have taken out the Benghazi insurgents, and instead—just letting Americans die an agonizing, lonely death—is the most quintessential aspect of the story. This is because it reveals Barack as he truly is inside—an immoral, gutless, unfeeling, selfish, hypocritical, overly ambitious and hideously uncaring person. Obama ONLY cares about what he personally finds valuable, which obviously does not include individual Americans, or any random human beings."  SOURCE:  http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50633

The quote above s from a piece by Kelly O’Donnell published originally at Canada Free Press.

O'Donnell goes on to say:  " Barack is a self-centered, utterly unfeeling, revolution-seeking drone who cannot be bothered with the hard work of genuine leadership. And as terrifying as it sounds, he is a typical Marxist leader who wants to “save humanity,” but finds individuals not important enough to consider. It’s no wonder Barack’s White House loves Mao, a possible role model for crazy, unthinking and ideologically-driven tyranny from the man who murdered 77 million of his own countrymen. Or perhaps Vlad Lenin, first dictator of the USSR is his example, who said—“Any cook should be able to run the country.” Marxists have no respect for democracy, republicanism or capitalism.

Whatever the purpose of Barack’s presidency, he must face the decision of getting beaten at the ballot box in November 2012 or being impeached. Yes America, it has finally come to that after Barack’s murderous high treason!"

O'Donnell is a "must read" article.  If you don't read anything else today please read this insightful article at Canada Free Press here:  http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50633

It seems clear that with less than a week to go before the Presidential Election, the electorate is extremely upset and deeply concerned over the incident in Benghazi, Libya, and the conduct of our Commander-in-Chief,  his administration, and yes, the leftist Mainstream Media in America who tried -- with all their might -- to cover-up "the cover-up."  But truth has a way of digging itself to the top no matter how deeply buried.

Articles of Impeachment should be drawn-up -- forthwith -- for President Barack Hussein Obama in the event that America has truly lost its mind and reelects the exposed Marxist to power on Tuesday, November 6th.

I would like an answer to my question (posed days ago) as to WHAT, exactly was going on that was so covert, so secret, that it was worth the lives of four Americans left to be slaughtered by blood thirsty terrorists.   I am still inclined to believe that the US was covertly running guns for Libya to the Syrian rebels through Turkey.  At this point it is only a theory on my part as I cannot confirm it.

This is just one of the myriad of questions just hanging out there waiting -- begging -- for answers.

Again, we need a congressional investigation to drag the people responsible out into the light, force them to answer, and if we learn laws have been broken -- then the appropriate punishment should be meted out.

The Obama Administration has played fast and loose with the constitution since day one of their regime.  It is long past time they be called to account.

I'm not a clairvoyant.  I have no crystal ball, and even if I did -- I wouldn't have a clue how to use it.  I say all this to say -- I haven't a clue who will win the election.  BUT -- if Obama wins, he'd better prepare himself for a scathing, penetrating, investigation of him, and of his administration, unlike any ever seen in the history of this country.  Even if Obama loses, the investigation should go forward.  We need to learn WHAT happened and WHY. We need to learn if laws were broken and by whom.

Meanwhile, Obama takes cover from the Benghazi storm by submerging himself in the storm that struck New England a few days ago.  Anything to draw the public's attention away from his callous conduct, which MAY include high crimes and misdemeanors, which are constitutional grounds for impeachment.

I have a feeling that when the truth finally comes out, as it surely will, it will make "Fast and Furious" resemble a Sunday School picnic.

America!  Get a grip!  Reclaim your common sense and go to the polls next Tuesday and rescue America from the clutches of our current Marxist regime before they can utterly destroy our constitution and enslave three hundred million Americans.

If you need a little extra incentive, just remember -- if Obama is reelected there is a strong possibility that he will be able to appoint at least two new justices to the US Supreme Court. NOW do you see the immanent danger to the US Constitution?

If you cherish freedom, if you want your children to live and breath free, then you can't sit this one out.

That oft-quoted British statesman Edmund Burke warned us clearly: "Evil flourishes when good men do nothing."  Neither goodness, freedom, or liberty have the luxury of doing nothing.  It is a constant struggle just to preserve them.  Our most powerful weapon is the ballot.  Next Tuesday is our chance to strike a blow for freedom and liberty by sending Mr.Obama and his minions home.

We're All Going To Starve
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*******************************

You may have seen this a few days ago:

"UN warns of looming worldwide food crisis in 2013

• Global grain reserves hit critically low levels

• Extreme weather means climate 'is no longer reliable'

• Rising food prices threaten disaster and unrest

SOURCE:  http://www.guardian.co.uk/global-development/2012/oct/14/un-global-food-crisis-warning

If this comes as news to you -- then you have not been paying attention.

See,  a number of us from the "conservative commentariat" have been warning of just such dangers for years now.

Just so we are clear -- I don't buy the UN's global warming/climate change excuse.  Weather is what weather IS -- period.  The earth has periods that are great growing seasons and we have some periods that are lousy growing seasons -- and -- since man first set foot on "Terra Firma," there have been periods of famine and starvation.  World overpopulation had nothing to do with it then, either.

The warning that earth will be struck by famine next year blames low grain reserves as one of the contributing factors.  I can't argue with that.

Question:  Is the US the only country to burn their grain in their automobiles and trucks?  Hum.  Just wondering.

Conservative commentators have been warning for years now that this day would come -- and if we didn't stop  burning our food we were going to find ourselves with empty pantries and empty bellies.   It would appear, if the UN (that paragon of virtue) is to be believed, that day has all but arrived.

If the next President of the US really wants to do something useful for the American citizens -- and the world-- he will, somehow, see that we stop producing ethanol and commit our farmland to, once again, growing food for America and the world.

The whole ethanol thing is the height of stupidity.  It's just wrong on so many levels.

First and foremost, we are burning our food supplies, corn, especially!  Second we are damaging our automobiles by burning that "white lightening"/"moonshine" as fuel.  And a car burning ethanol does not, repeat, does not, get as much mileage from a gallon of fuel as ethanol-free gasoline does.  That is a FACT.

Here in SENC, where I reside, at least one service station sells ethanol free gas.  Motorists drive from miles around to buy it because their cars and trucks get better mileage and they don't have to worry about damage to the engines in those vehicles wrought by the alcohol/ethanol.

Not only has the production of ethanol reduced the amount of available grain on the world market, it has driven the price of the grain that IS available sky high.  As a result, we may be on the brink of worldwide food riots.

Haven't you noticed the increase in your grocery bills each week?  Practically everything on the shelves and in the freezers of the supermarkets depends, to one degree or another, on corn.

Read the labels on the cans and you will clearly see the corn product included in the contents.  As far as meats are concerned -- corn is THEIR food, and after they are slaughtered they are driven to market in vehicles now operated partially on ethanol, a corn product.

The impact of that single product, ethanol, is having a world-wide effect on the human race.  It may yet lead to food wars.

It is 100% fixable!

STOP PRODUCING ETHANOL.  Knock holes in the ground and begin sucking OUR oil out.  Begin processing that oil-laden shale and oil-rich sands and squeeze all the oil we can get out of them.  Flood the American market with domestic crude oil -- from our own wells!

Within a short time, America will have enough fuel -- AND FOOD -- to replenish our stores as well as feed the American people -- and we can place the reminder on the world market at prices third-world countries can afford.

Look. This whole thing could have been avoided by not buying into the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on mankind -- global warming, and by common sense planning.

Look.  This food (grain) shortage was a forgone conclusion.  A fool could have foreseen this grain shortage.  You cannot burn your food supplies and not expect to run out of food at some point in the future.

Please don't harangue me with claims of an unreliable climate.  The climate has always been unreliable.  Ask any farmer.  They have known for millenia.  They PLAN for it.

Good leadership and good planning could have avoided all this.  Unfortunately, the US -- and yes (for the most part) -- the remainder of the world is not currently blessed with either.

What we have here, ultimately, is a hoax that has come back to bite us in the butt.  Planning for global warming, which does not exist, was the catalyst for the creation of ethanol in the first place.

I must tell you, it sort of makes me wonder if the "environuts," who believe the earth is overpopulated and that man is the root of all evil done to "mother earth"(Gaia), were aware at the formulation of the food burning plans that it would result in world-wide starvation.  Starving the planet's occupants will most certainly reduce the earth's payload of humans and save the earth from said creatures.

Sounds crazy, doesn't it?   .

Look.  I'm a country boy. My family and I will eat, rest assured of that.  My concern is that we country folk may be forced to take up arms to defend our food supplies from the threat produced by the flood of starving city dwellers who will inevitably invade the countryside in search of food. Fueled by hunger they will be determined to take what they need from those just as determined to stop them.

Sounds like bad science fiction, eh?   Problem is -- it ain't fiction.

There are two articles I'd like to recommend to you.  They are:

"UN warns of looming worldwide food crisis in 2013" at:  http://www.guardian.co.uk/global-development/2012/oct/14/un-global-food-crisis-warning

-- and --

"Food Scarcity: A Ticking Time Bomb" at:  http://personalliberty.com/2012/10/22/food-scarcity-a-ticking-time-bomb/

In less than a week Americans will go to the polls to choose the next President of the US for the next four to eight years.  May I be so bold as to suggest that every voter consider just how important it is, not only for America, but for the entire world, that we choose wisely?

I would be less than responsible if I did not point out that the current US Presidential Administration consists of disciples of the type of planning that has led us to the doorstep of worldwide starvation.

Americans should vote as if their life depended upon it -- for ultimately -- it does.

An Open Letter to the Liberal Media

Posted on 4:38 PM by Unknown

Link: http://s012/10/30/an-open-letter-to-the-liberal-media/ago.com/2

October 30th, 2012

Dear Mainstream Media,
In this time of the most important Presidential election in the history of the United States, you are letting down the American people, who have for so long trusted you to be our defense against tyranny in our government. You continue to run cover for a man who is very likely the worst President in our 237 year history.
The latest foul-up you are ignoring is of course the incident at the Benghazi “consulate” and the cover-up by the Obama administration. This is one of the two most egregious illegal acts by the Obama administration, the other being “Fast And Furious.” Given the nature of these two Obama administration failures, I would think, as I am sure most of the American people would think, that you would attack with great resolve. After all, many people have lost their lives due to these two Obama endeavors. Yet you are silent.
You went so far as to help hide Mr. Obama’s past during the 2008 election, when you simply looked the other way, though some of you engaged in an organization called “Journolist” in which many of you actively hid the truth.  You buried facts about Mr. Obama’s relationships with nefarious characters like terrorist Bill Ayers, and America hating Reverend Jeremiah Wright, but most of you were just silent on issues.
But, today, you continue to go about your business as if Border Patrol Agent Bryan Terry was never murdered with a weapon that the administration smuggled directly to the drug cartel hit man who killed him. Further to that, you are actively helping the administration cover up the facts surrounding the attack on the Benghazi Consular/CIA Compound, the facts surrounding the gun smuggling that was actively taking place, and the deaths of four (4) Americans; Ambassador Christopher Stevens, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, and Embassy Information Officer Sean Smith. In fact, I would venture to guess, that if I were to ask Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O’Donnell, Brian Williams, or Fareed Zakaria to name all four of the murdered men from the Benghazi incident, they couldn’t do so.
You have a responsibility to protect the United States from tyranny. Elijah Lovejoy and many other news men died doing just that. Yet, you glibly ignore your duty in the name of your political ideology. What is wrong with you? What has happened to the Journalism schools in our country that have turned you all into political operatives for your party of choice? What makes you think you have the right to propagandize daily when you go to print, or on the air? And since when have you become gods who dictate how our lives will go? How dare you?
There are, all over the world, real journalists who are regularly tortured and murdered for telling the truth. You disgrace them each time you claim to be journalists. During tumultuous times in history, as tyrants arose, from Russia to Vietnam, to Nazi Germany, there have been real journalists who, in their zeal to inform the public were rounded up and summarily executed. They died doing that which was right, and undertaking actions that followed in the spirit of a free press. They were journalists. Elijah Lovejoy was a real journalist. You are but bought and sold propagandists. You must have a hard time sleeping at night. It must be difficult to look in the mirror.

One week out: The case against President Barack Obama’s re-election

Posted on 7:07 AM by Unknown

Commentary by James H. Shott

Four years ago the left was filled with optimism and poised to win the presidential election. The Democrats had nominated the first African-American candidate for President of the United States, and millions were spellbound, and buoyed by his message of hope and change.

During his acceptance speech at the Democrat Convention, Barack Obama said, “we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.” The crowd went wild.

And it was about time we did those things. We had never cared for the sick before or provided jobs to the jobless. Or ended wars or been the last, best hope on Earth before.

In a campaign amazingly light on detail and substance, a dreadfully inexperienced Barack Obama won the election.

When he assumed office the country was in the midst of a recession, one President Obama frequently refers to as “The Great Recession.” As time passed and things didn’t improve as promised, this title has become a tool to make the downturn seem worse than it was to excuse his dismal performance on the nation’s crushing economic problems. Data show that other recessions were worse in one or more aspects than this recession, and while significant, the 2008 recession does not rate the honorific the president bestowed on it.

What does deserve our attention is the non-existent Obama recovery, which still has not taken hold 56 months after the recession began.

President Obama claims 5 million new jobs have been created during his term, but for the 37 weeks of 2012 through Sept. 15 the weekly new unemployment insurance claims average roughly 374,000, a total that dwarfs 5 million new jobs in just 37 weeks.

The U-6 unemployment rate stands at 14.6 percent as of September 30, and includes the unemployed, under-employed and those who have given up looking for work, a total of 22.6 million people.

Mr. Obama increased the national debt from $10.6 trillion on Jan. 20, 2009 by 51 percent, or $5.4 trillion, through a failed stimulus and a government spending spree. Despite spending all that borrowed money, since Q3 2009 GDP has averaged only 2.17 percent, substantially lower than the 3.25 percent average GDP through expansions and contractions since 1947.

Median household income has declined by 7.3 percent, and last year the Census Bureau reported more Americans in poverty than ever before in the more than 50 years that it has tracked poverty. Ironically, the group that has suffered the most during the Obama presidency has been black Americans, whose real incomes have fallen by more than 11 percent.

Had Mr. Obama set out immediately to address joblessness, and championed policies to spur the economy we would be far better off than we are. Instead, he wasted two years getting a bill passed to revamp the nation’s healthcare system, against the will of 60 percent of the people he serves.

Yet, the president does not regret wasting two years on Obamacare instead of focusing on the economy. In an interview with the Des Moines Register Mr. Obama said he had no regrets that he didn’t focus on the nation’s most pressing issue. “Absolutely not,” he said.

The dismal economic performance affects us all; however, the most remarkable failure is the scandalous behavior of the Obama administration before and after the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, where during a seven-hour attack four Americans were murdered. There was a reduced level of security before the attack, despite numerous requests to maintain the higher levels and even increase those levels because of recent attacks on U.S. facilities and mounting levels of violence.

Requests for help during the attack, including requests from personnel stationed nearby who wanted to help were denied. And worst of all, adequate answers to the many legitimate questions about what actually happened still have not been provided fully seven weeks after the attack. It is difficult to avoid assigning political motives to this behavior, which appears at this point as a clumsy cover-up to get through the election.

Add to this the Fast and Furious gun-running debacle, the ridiculous job-killing ban on drilling for our own oil on federal lands, and the war on coal killing thousands of coal jobs and thousands more in related industries like power plants, railroads and support businesses, and there simply is no reason to give this man more time to wreck the economy.

Barack Obama is not the god-like figure his fawning fans believe him to be, but a very average man who allowed the nation to continue to suffer while he pursued his ill-advised ideological goals.

On the campaign trail he now says, “I want your vote for what I’m going to do.” But we’ve heard that one before, and we can’t afford to fall for it again.

A Betrayal of Public Trust ... J. D. Longstreet

A Betrayal of Public Trust
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

******************
In all my 70 plus years I have never seen an election in which the Mainstream Media has endorsed and contributed to the campaign of a presidential candidate.  During the presidential campaign of 2008 and the current presidential campaign they MsM was -- and is -- indisputably in the tank, all the way, for Obama.

The national media, yea, the WESTERN media, has thrown in with the Democratic Party -- and especially with Obama.

Back in 2010 I referred to the MSM this way:  "As the doe-eyed, salivating, press corp, falls all over itself trying to hoist their failing socialist President and their liberal-socialist Congress up in the eyes of the public (whose intelligence they have so grossly underestimated) they create a comical picture, yet, one laced through and through with pathos. They are a pitiful sight." SOURCE:  http://faultlineusa.blogspot.com/2010/10/mainstream-media-puffing-obamademocrats.html

My feelings have changed, considerably, since.  I no longer see them as pitiful.  I see the MsM today as  threatening ... threatening to the freedom and liberty of America and, as such, they have firmly cast themselves as enemies of the  country I love -- America.

Here we are, a week away from the most important election in the history of the United States, and the Media is deliberately covering-up one of the most important events to take place during the Obama Presidency.  I refer, of course, to the cover-up of the major screw-up at the US "mission" in Benghazi, Libya.

As the days go by, it becomes even more clear that the President's team really, I mean, REALLY, screwed-up in Benghazi costing the lives of four Americans including the US Ambassador to Libya.  BUT -- reporting on this story, especially reporting the TRUTH on this story would reflect badly o the President.  Therefore,  the MSM is, in my opinion,  deliberately choosing NOT to tell the American people what happened.

Look.  That is information Americans need, especially on the eve of a presidential election.  It is information that will will most certainly raise questions about the competence of the Obama Team -- and it should!

The media has cast its lot with Obama and they are refusing to do their job and make the information available to the American public.

It STINKS!

What?  Do they think we re so dumb we wouldn't notice?  Or, is it just the Obama supporters they believe are that dumb?

The whole thing smacks of a betrayal of public trust by the news media.

And the MsM does not understand why we have stopped buying their newspapers and turned our TV dials away from the broadcast networks to a news network that actually tries to present news in a “fair and balanced” manner.  NOW who's dumb?

It's almost funny to watch them berate and laugh at "citizen journalists" on Internet  blogs.  They can laugh, and criticize all they want, but at the end of the day, those citizen journalists are doing the job the MsM used to do, only better!  When they laugh, it is the same as whistling past the graveyard.

Since 2008, and the election of Obama, I have gone to off-shore news sources just to get news from America.  I can't trust the American media anymore. And after this presidential campaign, I don't trust them at all -- and I never will again.

Senator Marco Rubio recently said:  "Never has the political class or the mainstream media that covers them been more out of touch with the American people than they are today."  The Senator was spot-on!

Radio commentator Rush Limbaugh recently said:  "The mainstream media today has the biggest disconnect with its audience that it's ever, ever had. And as the disconnect grows and as more and more people distrust them, then the media digs in more and more and says you don't know what you're talking about, you don't know how we do our jobs, you don't know what's important."  Again, Rush is right!

The American Thinker reported the following:  "Discussing Benghazi, Pat Caddell says the press has "been in the tank on this in a way I've never seen... I am appalled right now. This White House, this President, this Vice President, this Secretary of State, all of them, are willing apparently to dishonor themselves and this country for the cheap prospect of getting reelected...willing to cover up and lie. The worst thing is the very people who are supposed to protect the American people with the truth - the leading mainstream media...they have become a threat, a fundamental threat to American democracy and the enemies of the American people... these people have no honor... cover-up is too nice of a word..." SOURCE: http://www.americanthinker.com/video/2012/10/angry_democrat_pat_caddell_condemns_no_honor_media_and_obama.html#ixzz2AhVINBGk

For those who do not know, Pat Caddell is a fellow "Sandlapper" born just 25 miles, or so, from the birthplace and hometown of this scribe in South Carolina.  He has worked for Democratic presidential candidates George McGovern in 1972, Jimmy Carter in 1976 and 1980, Gary Hart in 1984, Joe Biden in 1988, and Jerry Brown in 1992. He also worked for Colorado Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff in 2010.  I point this out so it is clear that Pat and I do not necessarily share the same political philosophy even though Pat did leave the Democratic Party in 1988.

What Caddell and I DO share is the belief that the MsM is now a threat to the country.  As history records, South Carolinians have never been afraid to go against the tide when they believe the tide is going in the wrong direction.  THIS is one of those times.

I applaud my brother from the great Palmetto State for standing, like a man, against what is clearly wrong with the Mainstream Media's censoring of the news and dissemination of propaganda for the Obama campaign.   Someone had to call them on it -- and Pat just did!  Good on him!

I fear that as a result of the MsM's efforts, much of the electorate will go to the polls as the worst informed voters in decades, or longer.

Well, at least the facade is gone now.  Now anyone not willfully blind can see the leftist bias of the MsM in America.  It is also clear the news print media is now an anachronism of a by-gone era -- and -- even though they are desperately hanging-on they are inexorably slipping away en route to the great dustbin of history.   And not a moment too soon.

Benghazigate: What Are They Covering-Up? ... J. D. Longstreet

Benghazigate: What Are They Covering-Up?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

******************
(Editor's note:  YES!  I am adding the suffix "- gate" to the word Benghazi.  If Obama was a Republican, this incident would have been referred to as "Benghazigate" weeks ago!  Now, it is!   ...   JDL)
************************************

Four Americans are dead and the American people are being lied to as to how and why they got that way.

Either the President is lying - and needs to be impeached, or he's NOT lying -- and needs to be impeached -- because he DIDN'T know what was happening!

Repeat:  Four Americans are DEAD. And as much as it pains me to say it -- it doesn't look as if our government made a genuine effort to save them.

I have watched, listened, and read as much as we have been allowed to know -- plus -- information gleaned by non-mainstream media sources,  and I have concluded there is a major cover-up at the top levels of the US government over the incident in Benghazi.

Now, let me be clear:  I am not an investigative reporter. That is not what I do.  I am a commentator -- an opinion writer ... nothing more.   I have deliberately "hung back" on any in-depth comments on the Benghazi affair simply because there always seemed to me to be more THERE there.  In other words, it was obvious, at least to me, that we were only getting drips and drabs of what really happened and, I felt (and still do) that we have been told nothing of WHY it happened.   But, dear reader, even Helen Keller could see there is a major cover-up surrounding the incident in Benghazi!

That CIA "safe-house" has troubled me from the very beginning of this horrible story.  What was the CIA doing there?  There was no embassy in Benghazi.  In fact, the building attacked was not even a consulate.  If anything, it was a "mission."   Had it been an embassy, I'd not question a CIA presence.  They are practically a part of the furniture in any US Embassy.  But, as I said,  this was NOT an embassy.

Remember too, the last person our ambassador met with the evening of the attack was a Turkish diplomat.  What was a Turkish diplomat doing in Benghazi, Libya, meeting with Ambassador Stevens at an unprotected site.  Why not meet in the embassy in Tripoli?

It now seems that the ex-SEALS were not attached to the consulate, but were assigned to the CIA "safe-house." They (laudably) went against orders and made a rescue attempt of the US officials and staff at the consulate -- and lost their lives in the attempt.

There is now a fog of misinformation spewed up and out by the Obama Administration in what -- in my opinion -- is an attempt to cover-up an on-going scheme/operation to smuggle weapons into Syria through Turkey.

A few weeks ago, there was a report that Libyan militia members had been ordered to turn-in the weapons that had been supplied them in their struggle to overthrow Qaddafi. That report confirmed that many of those weapons had been turned in.  Where did those weapons go?  Perhaps, to the Syrian rebels?

It has been suspected for some time now that the US has been supplying small arms to the rebels in Syria for a while -- even though the Obama Administration denies it.

It is the kind of operation the CIA would be up-to-their-necks in and it would explain their presence on the ground in Libya in a safe-house a mile away from the consulate/mission.

For the sake of argument, suppose the guns gathered from the Libyan militia were being covertly sent to Turkey and then smuggled across the Turkey/Syrian border to the Syrian rebels.

I continue to cycle back to the question -- why was the Ambassador THERE , alone, without a security detail, at that particular time, meeting with a high Turkish diplomat.  Remember, this was on September 11th.  If there was going to be an attack by terrorists -- September 11th would be the day for it.

Now, I'm just hypothesizing here.  I have no idea, at this point, what was really going on. But, I have confidence in my opinion that there was a covert operation underway -- one so black that sacrificing the lives of four Americans was deemed "worth it" by our leaders in Washington.

For whatever reason, the Obama Administration has chosen to tell the world a bald-faced lie about what happened in Benghazi.

So politicians lie, right? Yeah, they do. But this time -- four Americans are dead and the country wants to know why that happened and why the Obama Administration chose to lie to us about it.

It is clear now, that all the warnings from the political right about the penchant of this President and his administration for lies was absolutely correct. If they are lying about the "Incident in Benghazi," what else are they lying about?

Americans have a week to decide if they trust Obama enough to vote for him to lead the country for another four years.  It is clear the Mainstream Media is NOT going to cover this story.  They are NOT going to investigate what happened for fear that it will drive down support for Obama at the polls.  They seem to have taken the attitude:  the truth, the welfare of the country, be damned.  Getting their man, Obama, reelected is the most important thing, bar none.

Look.  The cover-up of "Benghazigate" is far more important that Watergate ever was!

We need a "Congressional Investigation" of the incident at Benghazi and we need it post haste!  I understand there is no way that is possible before election day, but -- if ever an incident deserved investigating by the Congress, this horrible event in Benghazi is it. It is looking more and more as if grounds for impeachment proceedings are present.

Yes, if only Obama was a Republican, there would be no need for commentators to beg the Congress to investigate -- or -- for commentators to  opine at the reluctance of the MsM to investigate.

It is what it is.  The Mainstream Media in America is an organ of the political left -- as is President Obama.  There is simply no way we are going to get anything approaching impartial reporting or a REAL investigation of Benghazigate from the MsM.

It behooves every voter to weigh what little we know about Benghazigate and decide if we want to have Obama continue to lead this country after January 20th, 2013.

For me, it is not just a matter of trust, it is a matter of honor -- NATIONAL HONOR.

America deserves better than we have gotten, or, are likely to get from Obama.

As you enter the voting booth ask yourself, what else has Obama lied to you about.  What else is Obama lying to you about today?  Then for the sake of our country -- do what's right.

Revisiting Voting Blocs. Are They More Fluid these Days?

Posted on 4:08 PM by Unknown

By Alan Caruba
It has long been a tradition in American politics to speak of voting blocs, but in an era of 24/7 news and instant communications, that may be less likely as an indicator of who votes for who.
For example, The Jewish Press, the largest orthodox Jewish weekly, came out with a strong endorsement of Mitt Romney, but the political pundits keep wondering how Jews—usually Democratic and liberal—will vote on November 6.
In point of fact, Jewish voters are a minority at best and not likely to move the dial except in South Florida, and urban centers such as New York, Los Angeles, and their environs. What can be said is that Obama’s hostility to Israel is going to play a role in how Jews vote. Traditionally Democrats and liberals, they are generally close observers of the political winds and, while not all Zionists, they have a strong attachment to the Holy Land.
In a similar way not all Catholics oppose abortion and they can be found in both political parties. The notion, however, that the government demands that their institutions like hospitals, act counter to the Church’s fundamental beliefs has surely angered many Catholics. Hispanics, generally Catholic, tend toward a more conservative point of view, but the thought that they will vote as a bloc also seems a reach. Hispanic citizens come from many different places and cultures. And evangelicals could care less at this point that Mitt Romney is a Mormon. They know a man of faith when they see one.
The current wisdom regarding blacks is that they will support Obama, but it is also widely believed among observers that many will simply not vote in the dramatic numbers of 2008. Blacks are said to be disappointed with Obama regarding the economy and offended by his support for gay marriage. Overall, the African-American community has seen few gains, if any, in an economy gone south.
Women are regarded as a major factor in the election and both the Obama and Romney camps are said to be making a big effort to secure their vote, but I suspect women will either vote within their party affiliation if they are Democrats or cross party lines because of economic issues—lack of employment opportunities, the rising cost of food and gas, children who graduated college this year and are now living at home, et cetera. The Democrat’s farcical “war on women” has no traction.
Political consultants and advisors make their living reading the tea leafs of a campaign, but this one will come down to the economy, jobs, and inflation. These issues affect people no matter what religion, race or gender.
The Wrath of the Seniors

There is, finally, one very large group about which and from whom little has been heard. They represent all the other voting blocs and can be regarded as one themselves; senior citizens. In 2008 the CIA Fact Book estimate of the number of senior citizens, age 65 and older, represented 12.7 % of the population; males 16,263,255 and females 22,426,914. There are more now because baby boomers are entering the ranks of seniors in the millions these days. In 2011 the first of 79 million Americans born between the end of World War II and the mid-1960s will turn 65, swelling the ranks of Medicare and Social Security recipients.

A lot of the seniors, no matter race, gender, or political affiliation are very worried about Obamacare and they should be. Many already know that Obama took over half a trillion out of Medicare to fund Obamacare and you can be damned sure they are not happy about it.
At the other end of the age cycle Generation Opportunity.org, a non-profit group devoted to mobilizing young Americans (18-29) on important economic issues, reports that its polling says 76% of Millennials plan to vote. Fully 89% say that the current state of the economy is impacting their lives and not in a good way. The youth unemployment rate is 11.8% and, for blacks it is a whopping 21%. The declining labor force participation rate has created 1.7 million young adults who are not even counted as unemployed; bad news for a candidate who promised hope and change four years ago.
No doubt exit interviews and other post-election studies will reveal trends, but if, like 23 million Americans, you’re out of a job, still looking after several months, or just stopped looking, you have plenty of motivation to go to the polls and cast your vote for the only real “hope and change” available, the election of Mitt Romney.
One factor in the election has received little attention, but it should not be overlooked. A lot of states where energy reserves, particularly coal, represent a significant economic factor, have little reason to reelect Obama. An estimated 90 percent of coal reserves are concentrated in ten states, but it is mined in 27 states. Even though the U.S. coal reserves represent as much energy as all the oil in Saudi Arabia, Obama has waged a war on this valuable resource.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, coal production has fallen 6.5% during the Obama years. So that is one promise he’s kept; largely due to draconian EPA regulations. The EIA expects 8.5% if the coal-fired plants to retire by 2016 and 17% by 2020. Coal has fallen to 32% of net electricity generation from 48% when Obama took office.
While indicting the oil industry, the Obama administration has managed to squander billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars on uncompetitive wind and solar companies, electric car production, and at one point he was advocating algae—pond scum—as a source of energy.
Instinctively, Americans know that the U.S. must maintain a strong defense and they know that is not the case these days. They love their fighting forces and their veterans. Obama does not.
For me, the most interesting aspect of the 2012 campaigns has been the total absence of blather about “global warming” and only a few references to “climate change” by either candidate. When Al Gore and John Kerry ran, they were all over this like a doggy chew bone. The President who has unleashed the Environmental Protection Agency to impose an insane list of economy-killing regulations has had little to say about an issue that we have been told for decades was the most serious one of all.
While I am still fearful about the apparent close divide in the polls—which are trending now toward Romney—I keep thinking that Obama is going to crash and burn on November 6th. Even people who are not glued to the news channels or who refuse to process negative information about Obama know he is a pathological liar and the administration’s response to the killing of a U.S. ambassador and three others in Benghazi, Libya put this on full display.
At least Democrats could believe Bill Clinton when he said he felt their pain, but Obama makes no effort to even pretend he cares about them. He’s fixated on “millionaires and billionaires.” He’s concerned that Muslims not be offended. He’s offering four more years of the worst economic conditions Americans have endured since the Great Depression.
Poor Obama, he can’t blame his failures on George W. Bush any more.

Hagmann: The hidden real truth about Benghazi

Posted on 4:24 PM by Unknown
The Mosaic of lies, deceits and state-sponsored terrorism:

Link to article: http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/print-friendly/50586
By Doug Hagmann  Friday, October 26, 2012
Most people know that we’ve been lied to about the attacks in Benghazi, but few realize the extent of those lies or the hidden secrets they cover. After all, the lie is different at every level. Thanks to a well placed source with extensive knowledge about the attack, the disturbing truth is slowly beginning to emerge and is lining up with information contained in my previous articles published here weeks ago . The truth reveals the most serious situation in the world today as it involves the interests and destinies of us all.

A mosaic of lies

According to the U.S. government, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed during a spontaneous protest at the consulate office in Benghazi by a frenzied crowd of Muslims outraged over an obscure internet video. Recently released “sensitive but not classified e-mails” from Stevens to the U.S. Department of State painted a picture of poor security for U.S. personnel and the embassy, which was obviously true but had little to do with the events of September 11, 2012. The failure to dispatch an extraction team or otherwise rescue the men during a firefight that lasted upwards of nine grueling and tortuous hours was not the result of any intelligence failure, but caused by our unwillingness to widen the conflict and expose the nature and scale of our true mission in Benghazi.

Based on information provided by my source and corroborated elsewhere, the official account by administration officials is a mosaic of lies that were necessary to cover the unpalatable truth of covert actions taking place in Libya, Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The primary objective of our covert actions was to secretly arm anti-Assad “rebels” in Syria by funneling arms from Libya to Syria via Turkey, with other destinations that included Jordan and Lebanon.  Regarding the threat to Stevens and the other murdered Americans, the truth will reformat the persistent question posed to government officials, from UN Ambassador Susan Rice to White House Spokesman Jay Carney and others from “how could you not have known” to “how could you have done these things?”

First, it is important to understand that Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Dougherty and Tyrone Woods were not killed at a consulate office in Benghazi—as there is not such office there. They died at one of the largest CIA operations centers in the Middle East, which was located in Benghazi and served as the logistics headquarters for arms and weapons being shipped out of the post-Qaddafi Libya.

Although the U.S. government insisted that Stevens was involved in securing and destroying the numerous caches of arms and weapons once under the control of Qaddafi, the operation was more complex than that. The visual accounts of weapons being destroyed were indeed real, but those weapons were not operational. The working weapons were actually separated and transported to holding facilities for their eventual use in Syria. Russia was fully aware of this operation and warned the U.S. not to engage in the destabilization of Syria, as doing so would endanger their national security interests. Deposing Assad, as despotic as he might be, and replacing him with a Muslim Brotherhood-led regime would likely lead to unrestrained Islamic chaos across the region.

The Turkish warning

According to my source, Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 to meet with his Turkish counterpart, who reportedly warned Stevens that the operation was compromised. They met in person so that Stevens could be shown overhead satellite images, taken by the Russians, of nefarious activities taking place in Turkey. But just what were these nefarious activities?

It is reasonable to suspect that these activities were more dire than just your average “gun running” operation. Since the overthrow of Qaddafi, it is estimated that upwards of 40 million tons of weapons and arms were shipped out of Libya to Syria. But it was also known inside intelligence circles that Qaddafi possessed chemical weapons in addition to numerous surface-to-air missiles. Could it be that Russia obtained unmistakable surveillance footage of the anti-Assad “rebels” being shown how to load chemical payloads onto missiles inside Turkey near the border of Syria? Weapons, of course, that were shipped from Libya by the CIA in conjunction with various Muslim Brotherhood rebel groups.  If so, such weapons could be used as a “false flag” type of operation—one that would be implemented to “set-up” Assad by making it appear that he was using these weapons on forces dedicated to his overthrow.

The blowback by the international community would be swift and punishing, and the entirety of the civilized world would be demanding his overthrow. NATO would then be used to expedite his ouster, and Russia’s moral position within the international community would be weakened. Was the meeting held to show Stevens that the operation was compromised and that they had to stop?

A Nation/State sponsored attack?

While the administration asserts that the attack in Benghazi was conducted by a group of rebels acting alone, the facts seem to indicate otherwise. The level of coordination was such that we did not deploy military assets, located just an hour or two away by air, to rescue Stevens and the others at the CIA operations center in their time of need. If, as the administration contends, that the attack was perpetuated by a group of frenzied rebels, our military could have easily handled them in short order. So why was there no rescue operation?

Now I'm A TV Critic ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 11:20 PM by Unknown
Now I'm A TV Critic
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*************

OK.  Go ahead and say it.  Ole Longstreet is a stuffed-shirt know-it-all.
I'll respond by saying:  "I'm not a stuffed-shirt!"

So, now I'm a TV critic, right?  Well, yeah, I suppose so. But the plain truth is -- I am sick and tired of campaign politics!  So, I'm turning my attention elsewhere for a time,  for a break, if you will.

If you have watched any TV since the new fall season got underway, then you know -- there is a lot to be critical of.

I tried watching a little TV over the weekend and I was BORED.

The regular season shows all seem to have been written for the the American intellect's lowest common denominator.  Dramas and "whodunits" were figured-out within the first five to ten minutes.  The writers remind me of children who know a secret but cannot wait to tell you -- so they relate the story in such a way that it is literally child's play to dissect the plot and identify the bad guy within minutes.  Pitiful!

The news channels are, frankly, not much better.  We have the liberal news channels and the conservative news channel.  The one channel that CLAIMS the middle ground comes in consistently in last place in the ratings.  My opinion on why, exactly, they seem to own last place is -- because they are sailing under false colors.  They are, in fact, a LIBERAL/LEFTIST news channel.

Now we come to the so-called comedy shows.  OH BOY!  What an embarrassment!  Puerile doesn't begin to describe those truly awful shows.  They give new meaning to the "vast wasteland" speech made by Newton Minow a former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.

In a speech given to the National Association of Broadcasters convention on May 9, 1961, Minow was extremely critical of television broadcasters for not doing more, in Minow's view, to serve the public interest. His phrase, "vast wasteland", is remembered years after the speech after he said:  “When television is good, nothing — not the theater, not the magazines or newspapers — nothing is better. But when television is bad, nothing is worse. I invite each of you to sit down in front of your television set when your station goes on the air and stay there for a day without a book, without a magazine, without a newspaper, without a profit and loss sheet or a rating book to distract you. Keep your eyes glued to that set until the station signs off. I can assure you that what you will observe is a vast wasteland."  SOURCE:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton_N._Minow

It has been over fifty years since Minow made that statement/criticism of TV and, so help me --  TV programming has actually gotten worse!

Fifty years ago, TV was a family entertainment medium. No longer. My dad once remarked to me , "You know son, now I get to see on TV-- for free -- what I used to have to pay 25 cents to see in the hoochie-coochie shows at the fairgrounds!"  Funny, or not, it was -- and IS -- true.

Since my father said that to me, decades ago, it has only gotten worse -- much worse.

So much of the drama and action shows as well as the so-called comedy shows are driven by the liberal/leftist agenda that, at times it just becomes nauseating.

And every cast MUST be politically correct. No matter the show, you are going to see, white, black, Asian, cast members, at the very least.  Some will be male.  Some will be female.  Some will be lesbians. Some will be homosexuals (Gays).  Some will be transgender, or whatever the heck they call themselves today.

The leftist agenda is the sub-story, if you will, throughout.  Today the sub-plot is homosexuality is NORMAL.  Come on, dear reader!  If Adam and Eve had been Adam and Steve they would have been the first and LAST humans!

No matter.  The indoctrination of our young is the target and with current TV saturated with homosexuality the left is definitely making inroads into the minds of our youth.  And THAT is the goal.

So. To sum up my critique of current TV programming allow me to simply say:  IT SUCKS!  (I realize that is a highly technical term,  but I offer it for those of you with delicate sensibilities.)

Former FCC Chairman Minow, now in his mid-eighties, must feel vindicated and sad.  To see a medium that held so much promise be so badly used, and even abused, is certainly no comfort to him.  But -- he DID warn broadcasters about the quality of their product in 1961.  The onus has been on the broadcasting community ever since -- and it has failed miserably.

What a waste!  What a "vast wasteland."

Fidel Castro: The Quintessential Communist

Posted on 2:17 PM by Unknown

By Alan Caruba

My foremost memory of Fidel Castro dates to 1961 during the Cuban Missile Crisis when, as a young soldier, the Second Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia was put on full readiness in the event the U.S. had to invade Cuba. I was informed that I would remain in the Army “for the duration” thereby extending my enlistment. Happily, the crisis was resolved in 13 days, but everybody was holding their breath.
I had begun to hear of Castro as he pursued his efforts to overthrow the Cuban dictator General Fulgencia Batista who had overthrown an elected government. Throughout my college years, 1955-1959 at the University of Miami I had become friends with the sons of wealthy Cubans who were sent to the U.S. for a higher education. There were discussions as to whether they should return if he was successful. I knew nothing of Batista beyond the fact he was a dictator, but I harbored doubts about Castro even then. It was during the Cold War and anything that suggested a communist revolution made me wary.
Castro had been born into a wealthy family in 1926 and had drifted into the communist orbit like so many who thought it would bring "social justice" to the masses. He was intellectually gifted and had attended the law school at the University of Havana. The talk at that time was all about nationalism, anti-imperialism, and socialism.
He would engage in a number of unsuccessful coup attempts and even ended up in one of Batista’s jails, but was released in a 1955 amnesty. He went to Mexico where he met up with a psychopath named Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Returning to Cuba in 1956 with his brother Raul and a group of insurgents, they eventually fled to the mountains of the Sierra Madre. From there they mounted a number of successful military campaigns until Batista’s government collapsed in 1959.
The media made no mention of Castro’s communist beliefs for a long time, portraying him as some kind of Cuban Robin Hood, a man of the people. All that gave way to his affiliation with the Soviet Union and by 1961 outgoing President Eisenhower cut off all diplomatic relations and his successor, John F. Kennedy, inherited the CIA’s plans to put their own insurgents in Cuba to overthrow Castro. The Bay of Pigs invasion was a total fiasco. By 1962 Castro’s reliance on the Soviet Union led to the installation of offensive missiles and, as they say, the rest is history. It was a miscalculation by then-Soviet Premier, Nikita Krushchev.
The media kept reporting about things such as Castro’s creation of 10,000 new schools and the improvement in Cuba’s healthcare system, but what was happening was Castro’s positioning himself as the leading anti-American spokesperson in Latin America and encouraging revolutionary movements there and in Africa and Asia.
Meanwhile, Cubans did what they could to escape a prison nation. In 1980 alone, 120,000 fled when Castro let Cubans living in exile—mostly in Miami—to claim freedom for their relatives who wanted to leave. Castro also packed the boats with prison inmates, mental patients, and other social undesirables.
The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 took down Cuba’s economy with it. In 2001 Cuba suffered massive damage from Hurricane Michelle and President George H.W. Bush offered humanitarian aid in the form of food. To deal with energy needs, Castro ordered thousands of Cuban doctors be sent to Venezuela in exchange for oil imports.
By 2008 Castro’s deteriorating health caused the then 81-year-old dictator to turn the day to day running of the nation over to his brother who was 76 at the time, but he retained power as the First Secretary of the Communist Party.
Castro remains one of the world’s most despicable despots and Cuba’s jails are filled with anyone who openly expresses any opposition to his regime. Others were simply shot. Two Americans are being held hostage these days.
I will break open a bottle of bubbly when I hear the news that he is dead. I will do the same for Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

Oxymoron of the Year: Former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell

Posted on 2:17 PM by Unknown
This is a great definition from Oxymoron.info: "An Oxymoron is a combination of contradictory or incongruous words, such as 'Cruel Kindness' or 'Jumbo Shrimp' (Jumbo means 'large' while Shrimp means 'small')."

There's an interesting list of oxymorons at Oxymoronlist. Here are a few from that list:
Affirmative action, almost candid, affordable housing, aging yuppie, arms limitation . . .  you get the point.

Today Faultline USA proudly announces its nomination of the Oxymoron of 2012. It goes to Mr. "Republican for Obama," former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell!

There are many people who claim to be Republicans, and there are a lot of people who claim to be for President Obama, but most Republicans would happily tell you that you just can't be both and be considered even slightly "almost candid!"

Despite the fact that Republicans and President Obama don't share the same planet of ideas, values, or solutions, some people actually think they can be both. And "Yes" these strange Oxymorons actually do have a web site, Republicans for Obama. You can find them on Google.

Now there are many on the right who believe that Mr. Powell is just another "Identity Politics" player. And there are those on the left, who believe that Mr. Powell's contradictory nature can be explained away as a higher order paradox that few conservatives understand. But that's just how the left explains away everything they don't want to face from rising gas prices, freedom of religion, Libya, to the national debt!

You be the judge. Is Mr. Republican for Obama, our 2012 Oxymoron of the year, an identity politics player or just a pathetic paradox of nature! Oops gave myself away.

Obama To Seize Control Of The Internet? ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 12:02 AM by Unknown
Obama To Seize Control Of The Internet?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

******************
Our own domestic tin-pot dictator, Obama, is about to make a move on the Internet.

There have been consistent reports for months now that a Presidential Executive Order is being prepared  for signing by the President -- after Obama is reelected -- that would grant the President and the government powers over the Internet.  (Notice the deliberate distant I placed between "the President" and "the Government."  Obama has clearly set himself apart and ABOVE the government of the United States.)

Once again, he will be going against the will of the people of the US.  But what the hey, the man seems to think he has the divine right of kings granted by, well ... Allah, perhaps?

It is no secret that the Congress has been desperately trying to get a grasp on the Internet and each time they have made a move their constituents raise such hell that they have been forced to back off.

Consider this:  "When Congress attempted to pass laws earlier in the year — the Stop Online Privacy Act (SOPA), the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), and Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act (PROTECT IP) — to gain more government control over the Internet, public outcry quashed the initiatives. More talk from the Department of Defense about Internet security means that the President may soon pass a similar measure with no way for the public to stop it."  SOURCE:  http://personalliberty.com/2012/10/23/internet-freedom-is-in-danger/?post_id=100003902307631_318644311575919#_=_

Please pay particular attention to the last phrase of the last sentence in the insert above:  " ... with no way for the public to stop it."  I submit -- there IS a way to stop it.  That is to vote Obama out of office on November 6th!

It is very clear that after the huge role the conservative side of the Internet, the conservative blogosphere especially, has played in this presidential campaign, punitive action is planned and will be enforced by Obama and his Praetorian Guard.  Do not for one moment think those of us who raised so much Cain and revealed so much truth about the lies and distortions of the Obama campaign will escape Scot free.

Ain't gonna happen.

I fully expect a newly elected Obama to come after conservative commentators and bloggers -- with a vengeance -- soon after the election.  Once elected -- whose to stop him?

It has become clear that they will declare a threat to the national security of the United States exists by way of the Internet -- and -- that in the name of national security, the Internet must be brought to heel under the auspices of the US government.   A Presidential Executive Order will be signed, over and above the protests of the people of America, and THAT, dear reader, will be THAT!  (Uncle Joe Stalin would be so very PROUD of Obama!)

You may have noticed the racheting-up recently of stories concerning all sorts of cyberattacks, including cyberspying, in the Mainstream Media.  As the MsM has now proven itself an organ of the Democratic Party, one must view anything they report through the prism of leftist bias in favor of  President Obama.

What I am saying is simply -- we cannot know how much of what they are telling us about the silent cyberwar going on on the Internet is true -- or -- if they are simply following orders and laying the ground work for Obama's move to clamp down on the Internet and, ultimately, control it.

Look.  There was never any question about the government (or governments) coming after the Internet.  As soon as they became aware of the latent power of the web and the immense power to influence others the Internet provided those not in the ranks of government, the unspeakable power the Internet placed in the hands of the great unwashed, the proletariat of the world, the dye was cast.

The Internet has become an adversary of government, and enemy to dictators, rogue governments, and over-reaching, power-hungry, democracies the world over.
After the role the Internet played in the so-called "Arab Spring" uprisings, there was absolutely no doubt that the Internet would be muzzled by world governments including the government of the United States -- and the Rogue's Gallery at the United Nations.

We here in America can forestall it a while longer by insuring that Obama does not get a chance to sign that executive order after January 20th, 2013.  We can vote him out of office November 6th.

Poverty Nation

Posted on 3:05 PM by Unknown

Poverty in USA By Alan Caruba

Lyndon B. Johnson, President from 1963 to 1969, is probably unknown to the generations since then except for having escalated the Vietnam War. A memorial in Washington, D.C., is a sad reminder of the more than 58,000 young lives sacrificed. As time went along, it became so unpopular LBJ decided not to run again for a second full term. He is likely recalled less for his “War on Poverty”, a classic, liberal government program that to this day has not eliminated poverty in America.

The syndicated columnist and John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University, Walter Williams, recent wrote about “PovertyNonsense”, saying, “There’s nothing intellectually challenging or unusual about poverty. For most of mankind’s existence, his most optimistic scenario was to be able to eke out enough to subsist for another day. Poverty has been mankind’s standard fare and remains so for most of mankind.”

One need only read the Old and New Testaments to realize that poverty in ancient times was a concern. "Tzedek, tzedek you shall pursue" -- justice justice you shall pursue (Deut. 16:20). There's a basic human responsibility to reach out to others. Giving of your time and your money is a statement that "I will do whatever I can to help." This reflects the Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. In Matthew 26:11, Jesus says “The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.”

It is a liberal fantasy that a society can eliminate poverty, but that does not mean a society does not have an obligation to help the less fortunate. It is the tension between these two views that separates conservatives and liberals, but every time a liberal president has held office, it has become a budget-busting calamity.

The most recent example has been the reason, in part, has been the soaring spending on welfare since Obama has been president. The financial crisis did require some effort to provide “a safety net” for those laid off from their jobs and some argument could be made to help homeowners, although many of their mortgages were granted by banks under pressure from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with the full knowledge they were bad loans. They would become known as “toxic assets” that dragged down banks, requiring a massive government bailout to avoid a collapse of the entire system.

A recent article by Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, based on an October report of the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, spells out the current state of government welfare spending. “Roughly 100 million people—one-third of the U.S. population—receive aid from at least one means-tested welfare program each month.”

“ Average benefits come to around $9,000 per recipient. If converted to cash, means-tested welfare spending is more than five times the amount needed to eliminate all poverty in the United States.”

Federal: At $746 billion, federal means-tested spending exceeded spending on Medicare ($480 billion) , Social Security ($725 billion), or the defense budget ($540 billion).

State: In 2011, state contributions into federal welfare programs came to $201 billion, and independent state programs contributed around $9 billion.

Combined: Overall means-tested welfare spending from federal and state sources reach from all sources totaled $956 billion.

This is money from taxpayers whose personal budgets are squeezed by the rising cost of everything or which has to be borrowed by the federal government.

Rector said “Obama’s big spending plans will result in ruinous and unsustainable budget deficits.”

Why federal welfare requires eighty separate programs is testimony to the slow creep of government growth over the years since LBJ’s War on Poverty. That war was lost before it began, but it reflects the way such programs buy the votes of those dependent on them. It is a bad way to run a nation. It is bad politics. It is bad economics. And it will lead to an inevitable collapse in an economy that has shown virtually no growth in the past four years, an anemic 1.7 percent in the gross domestic product.

Voters disillusioned by the failure of Obama’s “stimulus” or Biden’s promise of a “recovery summer” in 2010 have the opportunity to end this cycle of national impoverishment in November. It may be our last chance.

Texas Takes Lead: Warning Issued to Foreign Observers of America's Elections

Posted on 1:48 PM by Unknown

When the far left can't win legitimately, it will do it by any means necessary, and if it means calling in outsiders from foreign nations to tinker with our elections and intimidate our voters, so be it. They've done it.

According to Red State the "Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE, not the UN as is often reported) has announced it will send election observers, with the implication that Voter ID laws are a problem."

The obvious intent is to intimidate conservative voters.

Red State today:

The OSCE is a voluntary organization and it has no binding authority over anyone, which is why Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has warned the OSCE that Texas laws will apply, including bars on unlawful entry of polling places.

Abbott wasn’t shy as he closed his letter:

Elections and election observation are regulated by state law. The Texas Election Code governs anyone who participates in Texas elections—including representatives of the OSCE. The OSCE’s representatives are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place. It may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place’s entrance. Failure to comply with these requirements could subject the OSCE’s representatives to criminal prosecution for violating state law.

An earlier report yesterday said that the OSCE observers would be sent to the following five states: Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida

Send this information to your state AG and ask for the same kind of warning to be issued to these foreign "observers" who are "seeking to apply global governance to the United States."
