Syria: wrong war, wrong time, wrong president

Syria: wrong war, wrong time, wrong president

America is on the eve of another mistake. Arm twisting, not to dissimilar to the efforts made for Obamacare, have resurfaced to force passage of Congressional authorization to attack Syria. Will President Obama grease the fingers of members of Congress to obtain their vote, as he has done under other circumstances, will be revealed as the process moves forward. Secretary of State John Kerry has been roaming the media for support to rage yet another war in the Middle East. He has been challenged and in some cases impugned for his stance on the Syrian dilemma. John Kerry, no stranger to controversy, has provided quasi answers to direct questions concerning chemical weapons used on Syrian civilians. His success in moving Obama’s agenda forward appears to be failing. Recent reports on Drudge and Fox news indicate there are not enough members of either house willing to stick their necks into another noose for Obama, as they did with the tragedy called Obamacare. President Obama has reluctantly sought Congressional approval for his pending folly. Many commentators suspect Obama wants shared responsibility with the legislative branch in case events do not pan out in America’s favor. Most recent statistics note over 100,000 dead since the Syrian civil conflict began. People displaced from their homes numbers one to two million. Aside from the carnage, cities have been devastated by sustained bombings and brutal combat. Syria and its President harbor no fondness for America. Without this civil conflict raging, Syrians would once again turn their attentions to destroying Israel and American interests. The logical question to ask: Why is Obama pushing for intervention at this late date? He claims someone must hold Syria responsible for using chemical agents on a civilian population. Reports indicate chemical weapons may have been used several times in the past 30 months, without a whimper from the White House. There may be more reasons that have not been revealed by the Obama Administration for this poorly defined mission. Obama’s ineffectual style of management, for this war effort to nowhere, can be viewed on many levels. He has literally told Assad what his plans are for a potential attack.  There are no clear cut goals established by the President and no exit strategy. Obama requested permission for a brief assault, yet his Congressional minions are requesting a minimum of ninety days. No boots on the ground is another fallacy thrown into the mix. America is about to make a bigger mistake than electing the present occupant of the White House. This one will cost the lives of too many innocents to be worth the incursion. Congress should vote down any request for a Syrian attack. If Obama then goes it alone, the ramifications could be enough to draw impeachment charges against him. Let us all hope saner minds prevail. Maryland needs leaders not followers

Maryland needs leaders not followers

Maryland’s Governor and Attorney General (AG) are running away from their respective offices to move higher on the food chain. Governor Martin O’Malley has his eyes on the White House as Attorney General Douglas Gansler looks towards the State House. Governor O’Malley’s few accomplishments are drowned out by the enormous number of unsolved problems he will leaves in his wake. Violence throughout the state of Maryland, especially in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County, has only received lip service from someone who incessantly brags of his nonexistent achievements. Taking his lead from President Obama, Governor O’Malley will waste several billion dollars or more on green projects to nowhere. Under his mindless tutelage a rain tax now falls across Maryland, the only state in the union to institute such idiocy. Taxes, tolls, assessments and other financial extortions from the state have moved up exponentially to fund O’Malley’s massive entitlement structure. Efficiency is not in the Governor’s vocabulary. His inability to understand business dynamics caused Maryland to be named a business unfriendly state by those in the know. In the event this is the record O’Malley will run on, conservatives will have no fear of him succeeding.

Attorney General’s office sits in prime real estate in the midst of Baltimore City, not in the less expensive state towers on Preston Street. From this perch a panoramic view of Baltimore’s nightly blood bath is evident. Since his installation as Attorney General, Gansler has made no effort to stem the flow of violence surrounding his office or elsewhere in the state. The daily body count attests to the fact that his very liberal agenda, to retain office, excludes the possibility of taking on the true challenges necessary to reduce the death toll. Gansler’s well concocted bio displays his strong push for; nontraditional marriages, health care solutions through the abomination called Obamacare, gun control for victims not victimizers, diversity in state appointments without consideration for merit, baseless green energy projects and numerous other left-wing assaults driving businesses to more friendly environs. Baseless lawsuits against physicians are one of his office’s specialties. Douglas Gansler has intimidated a sufficient number of people to keep his name afloat in the media, not to dissimilar from another cohort Eliot Spitzer, who followed the same path from AG to the Governor’s office in New York. Power hungry people will go to many lengths to stay in positions that give them control over others, Gansler is no different. Recently, Gansler made several gaffes when he insisted his opponent Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, an Afro-American, has only his race to offer as a justification for seeking the governorship.  This denigrating statement may move many out of his camp for obvious reasons. According to Gansler’s bio Civil Rights are a high priority for him, yet his speeches appear to reflect otherwise.  Both Martin O’Malley and Douglas Gansler have their priorities misplaced. Their motivations for seeking office have less to do with improving living conditions in Maryland than staying in positions of power at all costs. With these two men in charge Maryland has become more blue pushing state coffers into the red. Neither one should be honored with higher office, yet knowing Marylanders they like the status quo. Elysium: scifi socialism wrapped in contemporary issues

Matt Damon reached for the stars in his new scifi flick Elysium. Instead he fell to Earth, with a loud thud, as the story line was revealed. Set in the year 2154, with a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles as its backdrop, Damon must fight his way through two worlds for his own survival and the rest of humanity. Wealthy elites live on a gigantic space platform named Elysium, while the rest of Earth’s population lives in the ruins below. Twenty-second century Los Angeles is populated with millions of Hispanic individuals who have reclaimed a city once under their auspices. Very little work is available except for a few giant corporate structures managed by the Elysium hierarchy. Damon’s female interest has a child who is in her last days of life. With our hero facing his own demise from an industrial accident, the clock is ticking for both to get to Elysium where cures are available.  Numerous obstacles are placed in the path of the protagonist Damon before he can achieve passage for himself and others to the elites floating abode. Jodi Foster is engaging as the Defense Secretary in Elysium. Contemporary social themes overburden this film’s  futuristic settings begging the question, did the White House edit this film. A war between the rich and poor is continually emphasized. Climate change is creatively worked into some of the scenes. Yet, the most provocative theme is sophisticated medical services are only ordained for the rich, sound familiar. Director Neill Blomkamp, denies in numerous interviews, that Elysium was intended to showcase America’s current problems. Any other interpretation would be antithetical to the evidence before the audience. Damon’s performance is flat, as though he was forced to perform in a venue out of his league. Half-hearted direction makes the interplay between the actors lame and uninteresting. As an avid fan of scifi, I would wait until this one comes to cable. It has very little future. America: will its present form of government survive

America: will its present form of government survive

A RINO virus is quickly moving through the Republican ranks in the Congress. One by one the conservative contingent of the Senate and the House of Representatives are falling ill to this contagion. With few exceptions, their voices are unified with their opponents, when antithetical tones should be heard. Democrats believe there are more than enough votes to pass pending immigration legislation. Whispers from Republican leadership bear out the latter statement. All appearances suggest the two-party system has been redefined under Obama’s disharmonious leadership. Some even believe the parties have merged on many levels. President Obama has been able to sidestep most issues that are toxic to his presidency, surprisingly with major assistance from the Republicans. Originally Congressional committees moved aggressively to ferret out detriments emanating from the Administration, these so-called scandals have been reduced to quiet supplication on requests for data from the reigning regime. No one in Congress has been able to overcome Obama’s intricate administrative machinery to keep him at bay from moving on his very open socialist agenda. Government’s balance has been thrown towards the Executive branch, as though we are on a war footing against ourselves. Founders of this nation looked towards the future as they finished the Constitution. They were aware that too few strengths embedded in government structure would render Democratic principles useless. Yet, they were wise enough to know that too much would bring us full circle, similar to the egregious monarchy America had recently casted off. Unfortunately, they could not foresee a time when the Constitution would be usurped by a renegade government. This self-serving entity has absconded with the country’s wealth and robbed the nation of its most valuable resource, educated people. Government intervention has caused a decline in every major institution in American in the last four years except for one, the entitlement industry. Exponentially growing yearly, our newly merged political party is spending America into destitution lathering recipients with the largesse from others’ labors. Why? To maintain their power base. With the population moving towards 320 million, America’s central core of power no longer represents the electorate in entirety. A government structured around one person as President does not make sense as it did during the birth of this nation. President Obama has proven this premise over and over again. Additionally, 535 people in both legislative branches fail to reflect the wishes of those who put them in office. This obvious fact cannot be refuted. One review of the legislative agenda from the last 4 years is evidence enough. A Constitutional committee should study these issues because America is no longer the country millions have died to preserve. A presidency on the edge

Posted on 5:12 PM by Unknown

A presidency on the edge

Prior to President Nixon’s resignation on August 8, 1974, he presented to the American public, an elaborate series of lies to affirm his innocence in the Watergate scandal. Nixon’s message resonated with many of his followers, yet it was insufficient to overcome the depleted trust the electorate had placed in him. As impeachment proceedings moved forward in Congress members of his own party convinced him to step aside for the good of the nation. He pondered their request for a period of time and came to the conclusion his support in Congressional circles was eroding quickly. The rest is embedded in his resignation letter to Congress and the American people. Thirty-nine years ago this month marks the anniversary of the only President in American history to resign from office. Nixon never could have conceived of an Obama presidency with a multitude of scandals, each one worse than Watergate. Yet, America has once again arrived at the crossroads of history where a sitting President has maligned the office for which he was elected. President Obama has done everything in his power to obfuscate the investigations into his scandalous behavior. Through a series of deceptions and misrepresentations the President and his subordinates are attempting to lead investigators away from the truth. Nixon was involved in one incident, with the break in to the Democrat offices in the Watergate tower. Obama’s Administration has obstructed nearly three hundred conservative groups from receiving tax exempt status, disallowing donors their constitutional rights to express themselves through these groups. Present information suggests that the orders for these actions by the IRS lead directly into the White House. This scandal pales in comparison to the four deaths and eventual cover up in the Benghazi debacle. The lies and deceit from the White House, concerning Obama’s mismanagement of this massacre, could leave one breathless. Obama’s open discourse to incite race hatred and violence is sufficient enough to question his ability to lead. With a bevy of other scandals under investigation, directly caused by the Administration’s faux pas, perhaps the time has come for Congress to move ahead with impeachment proceedings. Violations of civil and potential criminal law are suggested by the Administration’s actions. In the last few days President Obama called these scandals phony and noted they are political ploys to block the people’s work that needs to be performed in Washington. On the contrary, Mr. President, Congress is performing the people’s work by undertaking and detailing potential crimes that may have occurred under the auspices of your office. The shadow hanging over the White House needs to be lifted before the actual curtain falls permanently. Many of the investigations underway are coming to fruition, perhaps the President should rethink his stance on the very problems his Administration has caused. If not, there could be a change in leadership long before Obama’s term expires. Trayvon Matin: the aftermath

Trayvon Martin: the aftermath

America’s conscience was awakened the day George Zimmerman’s six member jury found him innocent. A properly empowered jury of six women heard reams of evidence from both sides of the aisle and decided for the defense. Vindication of Zimmerman may have been a pyrrhic victory. A diverse group of individuals has concluded Zimmerman is guilty by fiat. Many who claim to speak for the Afro-American community deny the results of this trial as an invalid representation of the facts and call for further justice for the deceased Martin. Tens of thousands are crying out that Martin’s Civil Rights were violated. Investigations by numerous law enforcement authorities in Florida found no basis for the claim. Federal Bureau of Investigation explored the possibility the shooting was race based. After an extensive inquiry they found no element of racism could be attributed to Zimmerman’s interlude with Martin. Eric Holder, the federal Attorney General, was not moved by the jury’s verdict or the multiple investigations relinquishing Zimmerman from racial motivations. Holder’s Department of Justice has opened its own investigation to appease a contingent of people who survive on keeping racism alive amongst their flock. These masters of rhetorical nonsense have called for protests throughout the country to reconcile the jury verdict with the reality they believe actually happened. To spike the flames of racial hatreds further President Obama has thrown himself into the mix. His contorted statements drive home the fact that he questions the legal basis of the verdict. Numerous arrests, some caused by violent acts, have occurred in many jurisdictions. A more profound issue is media management of this debacle. Misrepresenting elements of the Zimmerman case were the norm in left-wing media outlets. NBC doctored voice recordings of Zimmerman to give the impression racism was a key element  the night Trayvon was killed. Overwhelming evidence moves the subject in another direction. Eric Holder’s intervention provides another glimpse how the Justice Department bases its decisions on community emotions not facts. In the event Holder’s Department of Justice manufactures a Civil Rights case against Zimmerman, it will be Zimmerman’s Civil Rights on trial not Trayvon Martin’s. If this case comes to fruition, Eric Holder should be the next person to be placed on trial for subverting clearly written law. George Zimmerman's Pyrrhic Victory

Posted on 7:39 AM by Unknown

George Zimmerman’s Pyrrhic Victory

Recently a Florida jury found George Zimmerman, the alleged murderer of Trayvon Martin, guiltless. Through political pressures, a mock trial in a kangaroo courtroom was held. Evidence was heavily weighted against the prosecution, yet they believed a moral imperative drove them to move ahead with this factitious case. Suggestions that the court was influenced by the Obama Administration to find any means to obtain a guilty verdict may have some legs. Prosecutors withheld pictures of Zimmerman’s beaten face from the defense. Judge Debra Nelson was less than kind to the defense attorneys and Zimmerman during this mock trial. Now that six jurors have found Zimmerman not guilty, based on a plethora of evidence in his favor, the afro-American community is seeking civil rights charges against him. Attorney General Eric Holder is searching for any means to bring these charges about. This case was never about race. FBI studied the actions surrounding Trayvon’s death and concluded race was not a factor. Media outlets, especially those leaning left, exploited this case to steer it in that direction. NBC edited recordings juggling Zimmerman’s voice to give the appearance he pursued Trayvon because of his Afro-American heritage. For this outright lie and other misrepresentations, Zimmerman has sued NBC. Now, the  hard part comes for him, survival.

Protests have erupted in many cities condemning the jury’s findings. Stirring the pot is Al Sharpton and his colleagues with hateful speeches, which squelch the true-facts in this case. Violent acts have occurred resulting in arrests in New York City, California and other locales. The Drama continues as the left-wing media continues to claim the circumstances surrounding Zimmerman’s actions were purely raced based and not self-defense. Sports figures and other celebrities have chimed in with perspectives that do not play well for Zimmerman. The charade this case is based on racism has even reached into the dark corridors and disturbed minds in the Obama Administration. The President has called for calm knowing his words will have a paradoxical effect on the crowds. The rule of law holds no value to these protesters and government officials unless they need its aegis to protect themselves. Al Sharton sought cover in the law many times when it was convenient for him. Sharpton’s present actions will fortify race hatreds and hurt many, but he continues to pound his fists for civil rights violation against the former defendant.   Zimmerman needs to find shelter away from the light of the media. Some have called for his death, others would like to see him hurt in some manner or form. My question to the public is: How would you have managed an attacker if he or she was pounding your head against concrete, had broken your nose, caused the rear of your head to bleed profusely and given you a possible concussion? Baltimore: a city in chaos

Baltimore: a city in chaos

Baltimore is drowning in the blood of its own residents. In the last 3 weeks, there have been 23 murders and multiples of this number in nonfatal shootings. Most of the murders in the city use to occur under the aegis of darkness, not anymore. Two of these 23 murders were brazenly carried out during daylight hours. The weapon of choice utilized in this crime wave was the handgun. Maryland’s stringent gun control laws have had no effect on the levels of endemic crime in the city, except in one area. State gun control laws have increased the difficulty for law-abiding citizens to obtain weapons for self-protection. Baltimore’s elected officials are perplexed why their high level of crime has risen even further. As usual, the city turned to the legal profession for answers. Two new prosecutors will be engaged to rectify the problem of violence or so they think. These new prosecutors will have sweeping investigatory powers and work in conjunction with state and federal officials. The question arises: How does engaging members of the legal profession prevent crime when the police cannot? Maryland is inundated with attorneys. Of the 33,000 lawyers admitted to the state bar, a large wedge of them work directly for Maryland. The Attorney General’s Office, located in the heart of the city, is overflowing with prosecutors. With a vast population of  litigators at the city’s disposal, one would assume government officials would tap this reservoir of legal minds. From the perch of many, the AG’s office is too busy harassing lawful citizens to take time to fight actual crime. Yet, Baltimore City politicians believe that two more prosecutors will stem the flood of deaths when many others have tried and failed. Baltimore’s problem is one of culture, not insufficient lawyers. A recent protest march to curtail violence did little more than help to relieve the frustrations of those who participated. This group refused to acknowledge the deep-rooted problems that generate city crime. Nearly 70% Baltimore City households have single parents. Dysfunctional families are the norm in the city, which are supported by a huge entitlement network that expends billions to keep the status quo.  Nothing will change as long as this culture continues to abandon its children to the streets. Baltimore’s government reflects the same culture that roams its streets, misdirected and aimless. As long as they are in power the drug problems, bad schools, murders and other crimes will remain at present levels. Baltimore needs a new direction with better leadership, otherwise we might as well write the city’s obituary. Rush Limbaugh: out of touch with the mainstream

Rush Limbaugh: out of touch with the mainstream

America’s conservative archetype, Rush Limbaugh, has lost touch with the mainstream. Comments he made in 2010 have come back to haunt him. A recent caller to CSPAN reminded America of Rush’s insensitive remarks concerning school lunch programs and their lack of availability during the summer months. Rush stated parents should be feeding their children from home refrigerators or take them to a cheap fast food establishment when schools are closed. In the event those maneuvers did not work children can “dumpster dive” similar to homeless persons. As a conservative, I found his approach to this subject heartless. Yet, there is a more profound problem Rush views everything through a filter, which denies his sight a reality the rest of us see. Many children live within a dysfunctional family structure. Children from these homes may not have food readily available in the refrigerator or someone to give them a dollar for a McDonald’s meal, as Rush Suggested. School lunch programs provide the nutrients millions of children would not receive otherwise. Apparently, his views have not changed over the last three years. Rush’s comments on health care are equally incredulous. Through his golden EIB microphone Rush has stated repeatedly that Obamacare is wrong for the nation, yet his belief that everyone has equal access to medical services is a farce. Wealthy individuals obtain health care with the speed of thought, the rest of us wait in line. Rush is having a tenuous relationship with conservatism. He lives in his self-created Elysium, which prevents him from seeing the suffering many of us must bear under from a regime that is literally destroying the nation. There is no doubt that Rush has been a bellwether of conservative views for nearly 25, but father time may have paid him a visit. Perhaps this is the time Rush should bow out gracefully and hand over his microphone to one of his younger contemporaries. The World does not revolve around parties anymore, only around people. In the event Rush has a reawakening, he must realize this fact and help the masses with substance, which his daily allotment of verbiage leaves out. As an avid listener of his program, I hope he makes the right decision. Mark Davis MD. Zimmerman case: a mock trial in a kangaroo court

Zimmerman case: a mock trial in a Kangaroo court

George Zimmerman’s mock trial continues in a kangaroo courtroom within the boundaries of Sanford Florida. Prosecution witnesses are making the case for Zimmerman’s attorneys, who are picking them apart one by one. Plaintiff witnesses appear unprepared, ill-informed to subject matters under discussion and deceptive on cross examination. Prosecutors have a mountain of exculpatory evidence, which displays Zimmerman’s innocence. Yet an orchestrated rush to judgment by media moguls and an out of control Department of Justice caused this mock trial to go forward. Trayvon Martin’s death is a tragedy no doubt, but the fraudulent substance of this case should never have seen the inside of a courtroom. Trayvon Martin’s parents have profited handsomely from this egregious event, receiving a multiple million dollar settlement from the community where he died. Neither guilt nor innocence were on the minds of community leaders when they forked out the money. Instead, reprisal in some format was their greatest fear.  Martin’s parents continue their travels to receive support, while the case is still hot.

Race has been the central core of this prosecution. Plaintiff’s attorneys have stumbled in their attempts to flood the jury’s ears with any element of race they could bring to bear in this case. The ugliness of the prosecutions overreach to find an innocent man guilty goes to a deeper issue, plaintiff attorneys manufactured a racial issue to move this case forward, enabled by the media. In the event the prosecution had one ounce of honesty within its legal team they would have stated Zimmerman’s lack of knowledge of Trayvon’s race. As a reminder this horrific event occurred in the early evening hours of the 26th of February 2012. Darkness was encroaching the area involved, accompanied by rain. George Zimmerman initiated his ill-fated follow of Trayvon without any preconceived notion of his race. Crime in the community was on an upswing and neighborhood watch groups were attempting to get a handle on the problem. In Zimmerman’s mind Trayvon appeared suspicious and he followed him. The rest is history. The Department of Justice forced a case based on race down Florida’s proverbial throat. In essence, the Justice Department and Eric Holder are on Trial.  With their win at all costs attitude Zimmerman’s innocence is secondary. Accusing Zimmerman of a racial hate crime, when all the facts point in another direction, displays a Department of Justice that has no sense of righteousness or morality. When George Zimmerman wins this case and he will, Holder should be forced to relinquish his position. Unfortunately, Holder has immunity from prosecution, yet he deserves the same legal wrath he brought to bear on Zimmerman. Marco Rubio: more Democrat than Republican

Marco Rubio’s fraudulent immigration bill is nothing more than a series of false assertions that hide the truth of this pending legislation. Rubio has been all over the media with interviews, commercials and ads purporting immigration reform is a moral imperative. On close examination of his words, they are nothing but a series of misrepresentations and outright lies. His claim that illegals will not receive federal entitlements if legalized is a sham. Most entitlements are managed by state political machinery not on the federal level. Presently millions of our friends from south of the border partake in these goodies and that will continue under his immigration disaster. With few exceptions for those with criminal backgrounds, all those illicitly in America are welcome under his plan. Rubio wants to bring his illicit comrades out of the shadows so they will eventually become taxpaying members of this society. The truth is once legalized the Democratic Party will have tens of millions of new voters, guaranteeing the left stays in power for decades to come. Border security was never his or the “Gang of Eight’s” top priority. Instead, Rubio and his collaborators buried the most important element of immigration reform deep in this fraudulent legislative effort, legalizing illegals first then finding solutions for border security later. Rubio has been flooded with negative fanfare concerning his border security stance. His first response was the fines from illegals, on the path to citizenship, would help pay for a secured border. When that crock of nonsense didn’t fly, the Gang of Eight derived a 30 billion dollar scheme to enhance border security. This waste of taxpayer funds comes with one caveat, the Executive Branch will be left in charge of these funds, therefore nothing will change on the border. One lie after the next from this once rising star in the Republican Party. Immigration reform may not be dead. Yet, the scent of this decaying legislative effort has been sensed by tens of millions, who know when they are being scammed. Rubio may intend to run for President. The question is: in which party? Drug testing judges: long overdue

Drug testing Judges: long overdue

In 2010 a report noted that 1 in 5 Americans took at least one prescription pharmaceutical to treat a psychological condition such as depression or anxiety. This means that 20% of our population takes a medication which can alter mood, behavior and judgment. Drug testing has been imposed on numerous groups in our society by overreaching government bureaucrats whose need to know appears to outweigh our privacy rights. Students who participate in sports many times are under the gun to take a drug test. Worksites often have a drug test requirement. Pilots, military personnel and even we lowly physicians have been coerced into testing. Yet somehow the very people that create and enforce drugs laws have found a manner to maneuver around drug testing regulations. Judges who render critical decisions about our lives appear to have escaped the very sanction they impose on others. Judges collectively are drawn from the same pool of people the rest of come from. With 20% of the populations’ brains immersed in mind bending medications it stands to reason that at least 20% of judges are prescribed these medications. In Maryland this author has had numerous opportunities to appear before lower court judges. Many times these judges were conflictive, confrontational and on several occasions deprecating inexcusably out of proportion to the topic being discussed. A judge in the Howard County Circuit Court appeared to be mumbling to himself as he considered a case. Another judge in the Federal Court in Baltimore appeared to have difficulty focusing his mind on the case before him. Mind altering drugs can affect the neural machinery that enables the brain to arrive at a specific decision. Judges are not immune to these medications. With the important roles judges play in society petitioners coming before them must be assured their arbiters are of sound mind. Drug testing judges would provide assurances to the public that we don’t have an odd ball sitting behind the bench. Additionally, along with the yearly drug test, a brief psychological evaluation would provide the necessary information to keep the mentally disinclined off the bench. Maryland has not instituted any significant reviews of their judges in these respects and the public has a right to know if a member of the judiciary is psychologically impaired. Syria: America's next mistake

Syria: America’s next mistake

Syria is immersed in a civil war whose incipience dates from March of 2011. Popular demonstrations during that time were concurrent with the Arab Spring in other countries, which called for transitions in their various governments. In Syria, protesters vehemently demanded Syrian President Bashar al-Assad immediately step-down from his long-term post. Equally as significant, they wanted an end to Ba’ath Party rule. Assad responded to these civil protests with violent acts including but not limited to mass shootings, torture, and outright murders of political dissidents. Assad came to power on the heels of his father, Hafez al-Assad, who died in 2000. Desperate to hold onto the reins of power, Bashar has shown he will go to the extreme. Recent revelations his army used chemical weapons on civilians displays he will do anything to quell the opposition. Estimates of 100, 000 casualties to date, from this civil war, creates a growing pressure on the surrounding countries to find a solution to this “uncivil conflict.” Countries and rogue political groups are involving themselves in the mix. Hezbollah has sided with the Syrian regime while Al-Qaeda has moved in the direction of the rebels. Russia has sent munitions to Assad and recent news reveals Iran is sending 4,000 troops to aid the current regime. As the days go by, more needless deaths are paraded across World Media outlets. Within the last week, the Executive Branch has decided to aid the rebels with a level of armaments yet to be determined. Obama Administration officials know that once the two sides find common ground and settle their differences the newly unified country will return to its hate America posture. Why provide Syria with weapons knowing that enemies of this country will take possession of them?  Obama’s penchant to place Muslim interests before those of Americans is very well known. Similar to the minor pretext used by the Johnson Administration to involve the nation in Vietnam, Obama is taking a page from history and repeating an error. In this case, Obama’s pretext is utilization by the Syrian regime of chemical weapons on a small number of its citizens. America is risking involvement in a conflict which can quickly explode into a regional war. Polls, taken by both major political persuasions, show overwhelmingly lack of enthusiasm to enter this civil war. While ancient John McCain pushes for our hand in the mix, Sarah Palin has shouted from her media pulpit the reverse. From a historical perspective, America will inch its way forward towards full involvement, including boots on the ground. In nearly every decision President Obama has made on foreign policy, the consequences have been nothing less than fatal to a country that has seen enough war. America should stay out Syria, nothing good will come from our involvement. Lawyers: America's fifth column

Lawyers: America’s fifth column

Lawyers have undermined every institution and tradition that has made America great (ref: Demons of Democracy, 2011 Healthnets). The harm they have inflicted on this country is so egregious that mere words fail to express the full impact. Battalions of social science majors graduate yearly with degrees to nowhere. Many seek the safe harbor of a law school believing the road to success is a mere three years away, without considering the reality around them. Except for a few high end earners in each community, the rest struggle to justify the time they spent earning their degrees. Many seek the comfort and regular pay of government service, here is where they do the most damage. With no special talents in science, economics, health care, military management, religion, environment or sundry other fields they create and enforce draconian regulatory structure that benefits a few at the expense of many. Obamacare, as it has come to be known, was written end to end by lawyers to confound the health system not improve it. Environmental legislation that failed to pass in Congress, no problem for the legal profession, they simply embed the same regulations in treaties bypassing democratic procedures (reference Dick Morris’ book Screwed). From Wall Street to Main Street lawyers not only pump out the laws which continue to reduce freedoms, they are the enforcers. Prosecutors, by the thousands, have been less than honest with their judicial counterparts when presenting cases. Thousands have gone to jail, paid huge finds and in some cases spent an eternity by bars on false evidence. Duke Lacrosse debacle exemplifies the dishonesty embedded into the American prosecutorial system. Guess who manages the SEC, Lawyers. When Bernard Madoff made off with billions he had been under investigation from this fine unit of the government for years. The lawyers and only the lawyers stopped the revelations from surfacing about his activities, they even dropped the investigation. Lawyers are making billions defending illegals, with the taxpayer footing the bill. Every treaty they write gives the other party the benefit at guess whose expense. Perversion is part of their repertoire as they push homosexual marriage on the majority who believe it is a deviant form of existence. From dumb down education to weakening the military the hand of an ignorant lawyer is somewhere in the mix. Federal Government’s top four officials President, Vice President, Secretary of State and Attorney General each have the golden JD, the degree that has taken the best country on the face of the Earth and made us a joke around the World. Some new laws to look forward  to: 1) Owe taxes, you will not be able  obtain a passport, 2) removing the requirement for prescription drugs as exemplified by a 12 year old’s ability to obtain birth control pills over the counter, 3) government mandate to control your thermostat, 4) taxes levied by the number of miles you drive, 5) forced payment of taxes on all winning at casinos, 6) forced government inspections of your homes for “environmental” purposes yearly, 7) abbreviating physician education, 8) a universal code for internet usage so Obama can know all activities you perform in cyberspace, 9) national identification cards for everyone ( remember the Germans asking for “Papers” in Indiana Jones, its coming soon), 10) Government will test each individual and assign you the profession of their choice not yours (see Brave New World by Aldous Huxley). Alarming as these potential laws may sound they are not some pipe dream by this author, they are being floated in different sections of our government to make life more “efficient” for all. Lawyers, lawyers and more lawyers are challenging the very basis of our democracy and they must be reined in. In the Book Demons of Democracy the astounding case is delineated how America has been maneuvered into a type of socialized democracy, a model of which has failed all over the World. My question to the reader is: When will Americans say “enough is enough” and stop the impending catastrophe by these Demons of Democracy. Mark Davis MD author of the latter book that warned America, tyranny is at our doorstep directly caused by the “legal profession.” platomd@gmail.com

Kathleen Sebelius: some will live and some will die

Kathleen Sebelius: some live and some die

Harsh reality confronted a nation not ready to hear that a 10 year old, dying from Cystic Fibrosis, is having difficulty obtaining a lung transplantation. Sarah Murnaghan is in the end stages of of this horrific disease with compromised lungs and other organs affected. Sarah’s physicians note without an immediate pulmonary transplantation, she has only weeks to live. Cystic Fibrosis is a very complicated disease, of genetic origin, which could affect the entire body. Thick secretions obstruct airway channels resulting in poor respiratory function, which is the problem in this case. Sarah’s parents desperately want their daughter placed on the adult transplantation list. Unfortunately, the cut-off age is 12. More lungs are available to adults than children, therefore Sarah’s parents went public with their quest. Fox News, in its inimical style, damned the government for its insensitivity to this child and its position concerning Sarah’s parents attempts to have her placed on the adult list. More to the point, Fox blamed the Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, as did others, for not signing an order to have Sarah placed on the adult list. Sean Hannity went so far as stating this is reminiscent of death panels. Sebelius was willing to study the issue, yet she noted some will live and some will die. She was referring to the scarcity of transplantable organs available and the overabundance of potential recipients waiting for them. As insensitive as her message came across, she was correct. Three children in Sarah’s region of Pennsylvania are waiting transplantation as well as several dozen adults. Blaming Sebelius is absurd and adds to the political circus around this case. Does the name Terri Schiavo come to mind and the government’s overreach in that case. Fox conveniently forgot to mention that Sarah’s disease involves many other systems in her body. Any of which could potentially terminate her life. Media and political hack’s amnesia to other people awaiting transplants was also very obvious. The government is neither the cause of the patient’s condition nor controls its outcome. Bad genes and a lack of transplantable organs are the culprits.  Many of us have children and feel the pain these parents are suffering. This is not the case to take a stand against Obamacare. Organ allocation is difficult and emotionally trying. Decisions made daily determine who lives and who dies. Unfortunately, it can be any one of us at the end to the stick. Sarah was given temporary reprieve this week by a court, which allowed her to be listed as an adult. As a physician and a father, I hope Sarah receives her lung transplant and lives a long life, epidemiological statistics of Cystic Fibrosis unfortunately state otherwise. Obama goes where no president has gone before

Obama goes where no president has gone before

Depravity will be the signature achievement of the Obama Administration, once its history is finally written. Obama’s clarion call to teenagers that fornication is acceptable, even if children are under 15 years of age, should have been a wake-up call to every parent in America. Worse, he gave these children a way out if a pregnancy occurs, over-the-counter birth control. When the latter means fails, no problem, abortion on demand will be available on request. Parental consent, not any more, Obama’s programs allow the government to intercede in many cases.  Obama’s devilish work does not stop with childhood fornication, his push to have the gay agenda fully accepted by society continues unabated. From the military and marriage to school curriculums and now the Boy Scouts homosexuality is being forced on a population that would rather see this disgusting behavior back in the closet. Military has seen an exponential jump in the number cases of sexual harassment in the last few years, after Obama gave his blessing to an openly gay armed forces. He forgot to ask the soldiers how they feel about sleeping, bathing and living in close quarters with openly gay individuals. Obama’s intent to enable the “gay establishment” to make homosexual marriage as acceptable as the traditional version displays his profound level of deviance from the normal course of human thinking. School systems are slowly implementing curriculums that explore the gay lifestyle, backed by funds from Uncle Obama. This filth is not limited to the upper grades, impressionable minds in lower schools are being introduced to the “new norm” as well. With a complaisant Department of Justice at his backside Obama and the gay gang’s next stop was the Boy Scouts of America. Much consideration went into the Scouts recent decision to allow openly gay children into their ranks, most of it from fear of lawsuits. Yet, the gay crowd is not fully happy with this decision. They aspire to have gay Scout leaders leading these packs of children. Time will soon come when the Boy Scouts of America disbands, because the majority of normal parents do not want their children exposed to such trash. Obama’s attack on the fundamentals of religion and traditional society comes on the heels of a push to move atheism into the forefront of religious thought. In this case, Obama’s moves imbue our culture with a sense of worthlessness. His policies and programs turn the population away from the elements it needs most, a belief in a higher power and the organizational structure implemented by that power. Moral decay and social stagnation were two reasons why Rome fell, America appears to be heading in the same direction. Obama’s deviances need to be checked or America will become Sodom and Gomorrah on steroids. Obama's dilemma: continue the charade or come clean

Obama’s dilemma: continue the charade or come clean

Three scandals, concurrently, are plaguing the Obama Administration: the Benghazi massacre, Internal Revenue Service’s abuse of power and News-gate.
As usual the President has cleverly distanced himself from these horrific abuses by sending subordinates to take the heat from the media and Congressional committees. Benghazi massacre no longer appears to be a sequence of incompetent actions caused by various segments of our government. Evidence emerging from various sources displays that a profound cover up, directed by the White House, is enforce. Deaths of four Americans, which include an Ambassador chosen by the President, still remain a mystery more than 8 months after the tragic incident. Twelve separate explanations, lacking any substantiation, have been expressed by various members of the Administration and the President himself. When the story of an anti-Muslim video didn’t capture the public’s attention, a dozen other variants were introduced in an attempt to explain away this massacre. From the perch of many Obama put the safety of Muslim extremists before those of four Americans. Someone ordered the military not to respond to an ongoing assault in Benghazi, and that person may be in residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As the Benghazi tragedy continued to swirl through Congressional corridors, abuse of Internal Revenue resources came to light, in the last few weeks. Groups that lean to the right were targeted for audits or even denials of tax exemptions in a frequency well beyond statistical averages, as noted in an Inspector General’s report. Coincidently, the abuse started in March of 2010 when Obamacare was signed into law. An uptick of IRS harassment of these same groups and individuals occurred as the 2012 election approached. Officials, at this egregious tax service, have denied for over a year these occurrences were taking place, when recent evidence surfaced displaying otherwise. In civil tones, IRS officials lied to Congress and the American people. Many believe the intimidation of the right was purposely initiated to keep Barack Obama in power. These revelations came to light 7 months after the 2012 election, when the facts were known 6 months before Obama won a second term. Obama’s henchmen and women had one goal, manipulate the outcome of a presidential election. There is no other explanation, with the facts presently available. Even more insidious than a manipulated election, is an attempt by the White House and Department of Justice to suppress the free flow of information in the media. Unbeknownst to Fox News, the Associated Press and others news organizations of note was the Department of Justice’s quiet acquisition of reporters’ emails, contacts, phone numbers and other information that could be harmful to President Obama’s reelection bid. With various excuses the DOJ quoted national security or some other hypothetical to obtain this information. Reality speaks in other tones, meaning this was another form of intimidation by an out of control Administration that feels empowered to step on the Constitution. Similar to the other scandals and tragedies Obama and his minions have sudden amnesia when approached to explain any aspect of this Administrations overreach. The time has arrived for the President to drop the charades and come clean concerning these three scandals and others from his prior term. White House machinery to cover the President’s tracks is being peeled away daily. Soon, Congressional investigators will find the path that leads to the back door of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When this occurs, it will be too late for Obama to be contrite before a Nation that made a mistake in 2008 and again in 2012. Obama: unfit for duty

Obama: unfit for duty

Obama’s Presidency is disintegrating under the weight of numerous scandals that are now plaguing his Administration. As the ringleader of a fanatical group of people, who concocted a sophisticated cover up for the Benghazi massacre, Obama and his minions are now under assault by a Congress that is finally doing its job. New lies and deceitful statements emanate daily from a White House that has no conscience concerning the actions that took place in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. Obama placed the safety of Muslim extremists ahead of four Americans, who could have been saved had he acted appropriately at the time. Our best of the best were told to stand down as bullets and rockets inundated their poorly fortified compound, which became the tomb of the Ambassador and three others. A flood of misrepresentations followed claiming a video was the main reason for the assault, when the World knew otherwise. Recent Congressional hearings have added substance to most of our suspicions that Obama’s position on Benghazi was a fabrication to prevent the truth from becoming known before the 2012 Presidential Election. Information Americans should have had within days of the carnage surfaced when several so-called whistleblowers came forward recently. On fear of reprisal, they provided testimony that was both shocking and tragic which directly contradicted the Administration’s account of the massacre. Inaction by the President on 9/11 and the subsequent cover up should be sufficient to draw an impeachment panel to investigate the potential to bring the President to trial before the Senate. Adding fuel to the proverbial fire, in the last several weeks numerous other scandals have surfaced with equal potential to bring charges against President Obama. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials targeted conservative groups, religious organizations and other right wing associations in an attempt to suppress their activities. Daily, more groups are coming forward with stories of intimidation from the IRS, which are reminiscent of activities instigated by the Nixon Administration. These activities come with one caveat, this time they are more widespread. The ultimate reason for hammering conservative groups was to assure an Obama win last year. In the event the latter two scandals were not sufficient, staff from the Department of Justice (DOJ) secretly obtained two months of phone records from various reporters and editors at the Associated Press. This is an unheard of intrusion into the privacy of the media, which will generate more Congressional hearings. Obama’s inability to manage day-to-day operations of the government has been apparent since he took office. Media, blinded by their left wing egos, gave the President a pass on each screw up, by him, that came to light. Worse, a population dependent on Obama for their weekly and month checks looked the other way as the nation sunk further into economic oblivion. How much more depravity and dishonesty will the sensible portion of the population absorb before they demand his removal? Rumblings of impeachment have been reported around the not so quiet halls of Congress. Since recall is not option in the law, then only impeachment can resolve the ultimate problem of removing a wayward President. From this perch I believe these scandals will be whitewashed. Let us hope the latter does not come to pass. Rubio's immigration legislation is Obamacare on steroids

Posted on 7:11 PM by Unknown

Rubio’s immigration legislation is Obamacare on steroids

Americans should get ready for the newest affliction from Washington D.C. This time it is in the form of immigration legislation. As porous as our borders are presently, this monstrous legislation will enable a deluge of immigrants to flow into this country. Marco Rubio, a Republican Senator from the Great State of Florida, is spearheading the push to move this legislation forward. Commercials have already appeared noting this legislation as a cure-all to all the prior failed immigration laws and policies that preceded it. Three decades ago one of our best presidents, Ronald Reagan, made a concerted effort to stem the flow of illegals from south of the border, it failed. Since then a hodge-podge of remedies have been attempted to bring sanity to the immigration process. They also failed. Senator Rubio has been all over the media touting the virtues of his program that disadvantages American citizens over their illegal counterparts. A version of this pending legislation is revised weekly to keep current with its critics’ analysis. Volumetrically, this bill contains 867 pages with references to more waivers, exemptions and exceptions per page than its big brother, Obamacare. For complexity it contains a dazzling array of tenets that could baffle the most rational mind. With such a variety of paths to by-pass the restrictions in the core bill, one can only extrapolate that it was deviously prepared this way for a reason. According to reports, Rubio claims border control will improve, more sensible approaches to the illegals already on our soil will come into being and future arrivals will be given an easier path to citizenship. From closer inspection of this newest offering from Congress, the antithesis will occur. Illegals will be able to bring their families here with much less effort than before, potentially doubling and or tripling their present numbers. Management of the borders are taken out of the hands of those who perform these heroic actions, and given over to government lackeys to do as they choose. We are told by Rubio that; entitlements will not be available to illegals, that fines will be paid by those who have trespassed on our soil and this illicit populous will be able to stay in this nation with multiple conditions of their heads. Once you absorb this surrealistic presentation, a normal mind would come to the same conclusion as his or her  brethren, that Rubio is full of chicken feathers. This monster should not pass either house of Congress or anywhere near yours. Trillions is the price tag for a legislation that is doomed to fail like its predecessors. Conservative media voices are already lining up to support this egregious bill without understanding its true nature. In the event there is any sensibility left in Congress, this legislation, in its present form, should be defeated and buried in the landfill from which it originated. Rubio is being disingenuous with the American Public concerning the contents of his legislative initiative. As a result, his political career will suffer tremedously. His elementary approach to this complex issue displays he is not ready for primetime. Mark Davis, MD, President of Healthnets Review Services, www.healthnetsreviewservices.com. platomd@gmail.com.
