Forbearance Of Incompetence IS Limited ... J. D. Longstreet

Forbearance Of Incompetence IS Limited
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************

Whoa!  Hold on a consarned minute!

This was not supposed to happen.  Americans were expected to to just lie down and roll over for the gun grabbers this time.

See.  It was all for the children.  Works every time the progressive/Marxists try it.  Except that -- it didn't work THIS time.

Why?

Because the Marxists overstepped, overreached, went beyond the pale.  Ignoring a fundamental constitutional right, one that is included in the Bill of Rights, which, by the way, a number of states demanded be included before they would ratify the constitution, was just TOO much.

Obama miscalculated.  He screwed-up!  His thirst for power blinded him to the limits placed upon him by the constitution and especially the Bill of Rights.

Obama bit off more than he could chew.  The American people bit back.

Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto  said there was a gun behind every blade of grass in America.  That was in the late 1930's.  If there wasn't then, there sure as heck is at least one, possibly more, guns behind every blade of grass in America today.
Methinks Washington is, uh, concerned.  And, indeed, they ought to be.

The Second Amendment was never intended to protect hunter's and sportsmen's ability to go hunting or skeet shooting.  It was intended to arm the American citizenry so they might defend themselves against an American government gone rogue ...  to defend against tyranny in an American government ... to defend their freedom from such a government. The founders knew hunting would take care of itself.

Unfortunately, for the gun grabbers, Americans remembered that particular right and they are using it today to arm themselves to the teeth and take a stand to protect their freedom.

THIS is what makes America exceptional.  We will lean over backwards to accommodate an overbearing government -- 'til we have enough.  We swallowed King George's guff until we had enough.  And we have allowed the current occupant of the Oval Office enough rope to metaphorically hang himself.

We are rapidly approaching the point at which we will have had enough.  Once reached -- it's "Katie bar the door!"

Even though the government is finding it a bit more difficult than they had presumed to confiscate America's guns, they HAVE managed to nearly dry up the ammo supply through massive government purchases of ammunition from the manufacturers.

As government orders take priority, ammo manufacturer's inventory and production must first go to the government BEFORE any product is shipped to private ammo dealers across the nation.

Think about it for a moment:  An empty gun is virtually useless. So, Americans can have all the guns they want, but -- so long as they have no ammunition for those guns they are no threat.

The law of "supply and demand" is working in favor of the gun grabbers, as well.  As soon as demand increased, supply decreased, and the prices for ammo shot upward at an astronomical rate. So, ammunition that IS available is extremely costly.

Another conspiracy theory?  No.  I don't think so -- not this time, at least.  But -- even if it IS a theory, that doesn't mean there ISN'T a conspiracy!

If this "theory" turns out to be correct, I expect there will be a public backlash the Obama Administration will be hard-pressed to withstand.  But, hey!  They don't have to face the voters again!

We urge Congress to immediately initiate hearings and grill the Obama administration, under oath, to get to the bottom of it.  If the results are found to be less than satisfactory, we urge Congress to defund those government departments responsible.
In the meantime, gun owners are finding ways around the ammo shortage just as they have invented ways around any future government gun confiscation.  Hey!  It is the American way!

Here in the American south we have a long history of going head to head with government "revenuers"  (Internal Revenue agents chasing moonshiners).  In recent years it has become something of a lost art -- but -- one sure to see a quick revival if the Obama administration continues on its ill-advised trek toward universal background checks and gun registration and possible confiscation of firearms from the hands of lawful citizens.  Believe me -- it won't be pretty.

It is historical and even traditional for the American people to allow a government all the rope necessary to hang itself -- and THEN draw the noose tight.  We suggest that NOW would be a good time for the current administration to reassess its attack on legal gun owners in America -- while we are still paying out the rope.

America/Sodom/Gomorrah ... J. D. Longstreet

America/Sodom/Gomorrah
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

************

I began writing this piece on "Good Friday," the day upon which we Christians remember the crucifixion, death,  and entombment of Christ.

Christians have waited since for the sun to rise on this Sunday, Easter morning.

Today, Easter Sunday, we rejoice as we celebrate Christ's resurrection, his victory over death, hell, and the grave. The Christian faith is founded upon the events of the period from Christ's arrest until his ascension.

Sadly, today the tenets of the Christian faith have been turned and are now being used by those of little or no faith against the Christian Church.

Where are the Christian warriors?  (Maybe we need a modern day Knights Templar organization to confront those who have turned America on its head.  Just a thought.)
America used to be a Christian nation.  She can not lay claim to that title any longer.

Look.  The very word "Christian" means "Christ-like."  There is very little in America that could be classified as Christ-like today.  In fact, America reassembles Sodom and Gomorrah more than a nation that subscribes to the teachings of Christ.

The scriptures tell us that God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by raining fire down from heaven  and incinerating both towns -- and all within them.

As I write, America is under a threat from North Korea to rain down fire from the heavens upon our nation.  You don't suppose there is a connection  -- do you?

America's culture is a carbon copy of the wicked culture of Sodom and Gomorrah.  The leaders of our nation have sanctioned the very same culture, for which Sodom and Gomorrah paid the ultimate price.

Let's be clear.  Those two ancient cities were NOT destroyed by God because of bad hospitality (inhospitality) .  They were destroyed by God for the sin of practicing every kind of vice imaginable -- including the practice of homosexuality.  The scriptures are exceedingly clear about that.

"America, is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within." ... Joseph Stalin

Uncle Joe was spot on with that assessment. His accuracy is evident all around us today.  America is, indeed, collapsing from within.  Practicing Christians know this.  They see the evidence, they recognize it for what it is, for they live, like everyone else, in the muck and mire of the degenerate decadence that is modern America.  It is all around us day in and day out. America's indulgence in sensual pleasures, its excessive and immoral activities involving sex, alcohol, food, and drugs has swamped our beloved country much like a tsunami embracing a beachfront village.  We are awash in hedonism. We have created a society that values the pursuit of pleasure as the highest good.

The perversions of Roman Emperor Caligula can barely hold a candle to the "egalitarian" hedonistic escapades of we Americans.  We have even gone so far as to urge our Supreme Court to decree such behavior as constitutionally protected.

This behavior by a people, a nation, is nothing new.  Thousands of years ago a prophet wrote:   "The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves." -- Isaiah 3:9 .  Read that short piece of scripture again and then turn on a TV news channel and observe as "they parade their sin as Sodom."

I ask you:  How much farther can America fall before she hits the bottom.  Instead, maybe the question ought to be how much farther MUST America fall before she hits the bottom.  I pose the question because our arrogance, our stubbornness, will not allow Americans to recognize and then accept our enslavement to a death wish.  For, believe me, it is a death wish.

No less an authority that the Scriptures tells us flat-out that:  "The wages of sin is -- death." (Romans 6:23 -- The Bible)

There has been a complete moral breakdown in American society.  Since the 1960's there has been a spiraling descent of Americans into the depths of hedonistic squalor.  "Moral relativism," in my opinion, has greased the rails leading to chaos, ruin, and eventually, to  perdition for our once great country.   We know it by another name today -- political correctness --and -- at least SOME of us can see the hefty price tag.

Social conservatives championing "family values" were mocked and shouted down just a bare few years ago. It was reminiscent of those who laughed at --and derided -- a fellow named Noah as he sweated profusely to build a huge float-able barge in the heat of a dry, dry, desert.  The laughter and derision ended abruptly when the water began to rise.  By then, of course, it was too late.

Thomas Huxley once said: "It doesn't take much of a man to be a Christian, but it takes all there is of him."   In America today Christians are fighting a holding action.  We hear often of the war on Christianity. It IS real and no quarter is given by the opponents of Christianity.

I had not intended to deliver a sermon when I began this piece. It just sort of evolved into, well, whatever you may chose to call it.

To America's Christian community, I offer encouragement.  But -- we MUST take a stand.  In fact, those are our instructions: "Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm."  (Ephesians 6:13 -- The Bible)

As we look around us, there can be no doubt THIS is the EVIL DAY.

As Brother Martin Luther, the Great Reformer, was on trial for his life, he refused to recant and he left us with words that echo down through the ages.  As he refused to recant he said:  "Here I stand, I can do no other, God help me. Amen."

So, I would call upon my fellow Christians to "stand".  Don't give an inch. And may God help us.  Amen.

Pagan America ... by J. D. Longstreet

Pagan America
Creating God In Our Own Image
By:  J. D. Longstreet
******************
As socialism wraps it’s cold, icy, fingers around freedom’s throat  As I think back, the most obvious of the “warning signs” was/is the so-called “Green Movement.”
In America, many Americans have slowly come to the realization that the socialist takeover of America did not happen overnight. There were plenty of warning signs over the past few decades.

Those who follow the Green Movement, the acolytes of the Global Warming “religion,” are easily identified by their unbridled compulsion to bow down to the false idols of science, to socialist politics, and, let us not forget… M O N E Y!  You find them everywhere these days. Turn on a TV and there they are straining to burden you with a guilt trip about the damage YOU have done to the planet and how YOU must atone for your wickedness in order to be redeemed from your sins against the “Earth Mother.”

Go to church, and there they are, often in the pulpits, railing about YOUR sins NOT against God, but your sins against the Earth, the climate, the Polar bears, etc, etc.

In America’s schools YOUR children are being indoctrinated in the world’s newest religion and they are instructed to act as missionaries taking the message of the new salvation back home to their parents and family and friends and neighbors.  They are made to sit through propaganda movies by Nobel Prize winners which scare the living daylights out of them and help mold those malleable mental crucibles into warriors of the LEFT armed with lies, deceit, and more propaganda.

Spreading the Green Gospel ain’t easy.  If the Greenies get them at birth, and all the way through 16 to 20 years in our public education system, they are lost.  The Green culthas got them… unless there is an “Intervention.”

Our politicians sold out, longs ago, to the "greenies."  They preach energy independence and then refuse to allow America to become energy independent by using the oil and coal we have right here beneath American soil or under American waters or in the rocks that litter some of America’s landscape. And now we have a President absolutely committed to the green religion.

Back to the new/OLD religion.  (That was not a misprint, or an editorial screw-up.)  See, that’s what this new Green religion is… O L D!  It is out and out paganism.

The first time I heard a minister preaching on the merits of environmentalism from the pulpit, I nearly burst out laughing!  The man was obviously educated beyond his abilities!  There was a man, supposedly a man of God, speaking from a sacred spot in a building set aside for the worship of God, endorsing paganism, which, itself, is the world’s OLDEST religion!  I ask you, how is it possible for any reasonably educated individual NOT to recognize the Green Movement for what it is… pure Paganism, the worship of Gaia, the “earth mother, or “Mother Earth”.

Many believe that paganism died after Constantine in the third century.  Not so!  It DID recede but the practice of paganism continued in the jungles of Africa and right here in what we now call America, and even in Europe where the practice went, for all intents and purposes, underground.

Paganism has survived into the 21stcentury.  Not much about it has changed except the name by which it is known today…. environmentalism. It is the worship of the earth.  It is the deification of the planet and raising it up above that which Christians and Jews refer to as God, Jehovah, and Yahweh.  It is, for Christians and Jews, a violation of the First Commandment:  “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Even now, as I write this, I envision modern day Americans bowing down to trees and rocks and rivers and oceans paying homage to Gaia the “earth mother”. How utterly disgusting it is to see grown men and women make complete fools of themselves in pagan worship services on Earth Day.  What makes it truly disturbing is that these same men and women who, on Earth Day bow down to the idols of a false god, a pagan god, Gaia, will rush to church or temple or synagogue on Saturday, or Sunday, and keep a straight face while they go through the motions of worshiping the creator of all this is, seen and unseen.

Yes, the pagans are back from the fringes of society and the shadows of civilization to take advantage of mankind’s deep yearning for something to worship that he, or she, can see and hold and touch and pay tribute to in order to, somehow, redeem himself/herself from whatever his/her, darkest fears happen to be.  They call it environmentalism, but those of us who recognize it for what it is call it by its real name… paganism.

It is important to understand the link between paganism and socialism. Here in America we now have a socialist government, as does much of the rest of the world.  Here’s the link…socialism is the incubator and the nursery for paganism.

You see, America is now in it’s “Post-Christian Era.”   We are no longer a Christian nation. America, today, is, at best, a Socialist/Pagan nation. There is a price America must pay for her failure to live into her promise, to live up to her role as the leader of the world.

Make no mistake, America forsook her leadership role and joined the mob.  If you have been surprised at the rapidity with which America has crumbled, then you have not been paying attention. Stand-by, for the worst is yet to come. We are only at the cusp of the troubles and tribulations this nation must yet suffer.

Already, today, I chafe under the yoke of socialism.  The knowledge that the burden is only going to grow heavier makes the chafing even worse. Watching America desperately seeking redemption through the pagan worship of the earth, this oldest of old religions, it occurred to me that, at least here in America, we have finally succeeded in creating God in our own image… and it is an abomination!

We Believe It Is Okay To Murder The Child If The Parent Doesn't Want It!

Posted on 7:44 AM by Unknown
By Findalis
Monkey in the Middle

Is basically the statement given by Planned Parenthood's lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow when asked if a child is born alive during a botched abortion what should be done with it.  This goes along with the teachings of Planned Parenthood and the writings of Alberto Giubilini of Monash University in Melbourne and Francesca Minerva at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics at the University of Melbourn.  Professors (and I use the word loosely) Giubilni and Minerva believe that a parent has the right to murder her child until the child reaches the age of 2.  They claim the child is NOT a human and there is no soul.  Now it seems that Planned Parenthood is spouting this idea.
A representative from Planned Parenthood is raising some eyebrows for her response to questioning on Florida legislation that would require baby's born alive during a botched abortion to receive medical care.

Alisa LaPolt Snow, a lobbyist with the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified this week at a committee hearing on the bill, sparking expressions of disbelief when she underscored that such matters be left to the woman, her family and her physician.

"Planned Parenthood condemns any physician who does not follow the law or endangers a woman's or a child's health, but we don't believe that politicians should be the ones who decide what constitutes the best, medically appropriate treatment in any given situation," she said in a prepared statement.

One of the lawmakers asked her what Planned Parenthood's position would be if a baby is born as a result of a botched abortion.

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family and the physician," she said.

When another lawmaker asks her specifically what Planned Parenthood does when such a scenario happens at its clinics, she said simply, "I do not have that information."

Another lawmaker made the point that the baby born alive would become a patient as well, not just the mother.

"That's a very good question," Snow said. "I really don't know how to answer that."

She had said earlier that Planned Parenthood's primary objection to the legislation is that it doesn't include a "neutrality clause" that would make clear it does not change the legal status of a baby before being born alive.

Source
Has anyone else noticed that this debate is going from aborting children before birth to now murdering children after they are born?  And at what age do we consider the child "Human"?At what age does their murder become a crime?    2? 12?  21?  50? A week ago a pair of teens shot a 13 month old little boy in the head, killing him.  Today they are charged with murder.  If Alisa LaPolt Snow and Planned Parenthood have their way, they would be given medals and a monetary reward.

I fear this is the next "right" that the Sandra Flukes and Planned Parenthood cronies will impose upon us.  And I can just hear Satan laughing his head off.

Sound Of War Drums Grows Louder ... J. D. Longstreet

Sound Of War Drums Grows Louder
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

***************

North Korea's bluster has been an incessant noise in the background of our lives for so long now that nobody really pays attention anymore.

That may be a mistake.

North Korea today is about as unpredictable as a two-year old with a loaded -- and cocked -- revolver in his hand.

If the DPRK's new leader, basically a kid, is not soon gagged by North Korea's number one sponsor, China, he may well talk himself into doing something utterly stupid and bring a world of hurt down on himself and the people he holds in abject slavery.

On the other hand, he may suffer an, uh, untimely demise, (The tried and true "brain hemorrhage" ... usually caused by a 9mm round administered just behind the left ear.)  and at such a tender age.

We expect his replacement would be a more, shall we say ... moderate ... dictator.

Tensions are way high on the Korean peninsula these days and a single misstep could touch off a raging war that the US is bound to take part in.

The US has 30,000 combat troops on the ground in South Korea today.  That is not counting those US troops taking part in the war games underway today. We have had a rather large garrison of troops there since 1953 when a cease fire was signed between the Koreas -- with the US included.

Understand:  A state of war technically exists between North Korea and South Korea and the United States.  The agreement in 1953, was only to stop shooting at each other.  Since then we have, all three, stood at the border and glared across the 38th parallel at each other with our "war faces" on.   There have been incidents in which lives have been lost on both sides.  Almost all those incidents have been directly caused or triggered by the North Koreans.

So.  Like it or not, once again the United States is staring down the barrel of a North Korean artillery piece while the chubby kid with the bowl haircut tightens the tension on the trigger lanyard.

One has to ask how big a part Iran is playing in North Korea's bombastic diplomacy toward the US and its sister state to the south.  Is it outside the realm of possibility that Iran has offered North Korea something of value to create a disturbance and divert America's attention away for Teheran 's bomb making efforts?  We know the North Korea and Iranian nuclear experts have been colluding for some time now in a scientific-cooperation pact.  The official agreement was signed by the two rogue nations last September.  But their military cooperation dates back to the Iran/Iraq war in the 1980's.  Since then, North Korea has been the number one supplier of missile parts and technology to Iran.

Consider this:  "North Korea could provide Iran with a range of supplies for its nuclear program, including uranium ore, centrifuge machines and enriched uranium, according to these officials."  SOURCE:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323628804578348640295282274.html

Even more troubling is the possibility that North Korea might be supplying Iran with the the technology needed to place an atomic warhead on a missile.

"North Korea and Iran both have strategic reasons to mislead and conceal from the West the true status of their nuclear and missile programs. They intend that the U.S. and its allies will underestimate those programs, fail to act in time to stop them, and be strategically surprised when North Korea and Iran become nuclear super-powers, and progenitors of a dystopian new world order."  SOURCE:  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/12944#.UVRVTDfJIuM

Then there is the strong possibility that North Korea already has the technology to lob a relatively small nuclear device and have it explode high above the continental US creating an electromagnetic pulse that would , for all intents and purposes,  completely shut down the US.  No electricity anywhere in the country, no electronic devices, including computers, no cars, no trucks, no nothing.  The US would effectively be thrown back into the 19th century where the horse will be the number one mode of transportation -- all in the twinkling of an eye.

Look.  This is science ... not science fiction.  We have the technology and it is readily available to the North Koreans -- and the Iranians.

The US is as vulnerable, as she as ever been, maybe more so.  All the while our government is busy cutting back on our military.

As difficult as it may be to get one's mind wrapped around our vulnerability today, it is becoming clear that we Americans are one button push away from playing out the script of the movie "Red Dawn" -- in real life -- on our shores any day now.

You know, all those armed-to-the-teeth American citizens could turn out to be one hell of a partisan army in waiting.

Problem is ... that is a fantasy.  After an EMP attack,  all the enemy has to do is wait.  Science/experts tell us that within three to six months the population of the US would be decimated by hunger and disease.  Soon, our enemies could just walk in and take over.

Horrifying?  Damn right it is!  But such is the world we live in today.

The United States finds itself at a point in its history where it is, for all intents and purposes, leaderless.  In our entire history, there has been no time in which we were as vulnerable to our enemies as we are today, this very minute.

The last time the US came this close to baring its chest to our enemies was during the Carter years.  Reagan quickly built the US defenses and military up again as fast as was possible.  There is no Reagan on the horizon today.

Just as the barbarians gathered around Rome when they sensed she was vulnerable, so our enemies are gathering their forces.  Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, plus the terrorist armies around the globe, and every little piss ant nation with a beef against us are biding their time.

"Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum."  Translated from Latin it means:  "If you want peace, prepare for war."  Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus  (Usually shortened to Vegetius) is given credit for having said this in his book  "Epitoma rei militaris."   The book, itself, is a plea for army reform; it vividly portrays the military decadence of the Late Roman Empire.

One would hope an insightful American writer of modern times would pen such a warning today.  Trouble is, about as many modern Americans can actually read as Romans of Vegetius' day!  One must consider, too, that apathy amongst American citizens today far exceeds that of the citizens of ancient Rome.

There is no "high note" upon which to end this commentary.   There just isn't.

These are perilous times for America -- extremely perilous.  Even more troubling, is that an old swamp pundit finds himself compelled to direct the country's attention to the existential threat posed by a loud-mouthed, semi-sane, testosterone challenged, pip-squeak, rogue nation -- WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

You have heard it said:  "Elections have consequences."  Well, it's true.  THIS is one of them.

Note To The World ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 12:10 AM by Unknown
Note To The World
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*********************************************

Note To The World:  Please try not to blow yourself up for the next four years while America takes care of a little business here at home.

See, America is at one of those critical points in her history where she has to decide what she is going to be for a while.  This one is a bit more complex than many of America's  past dilemmas have proven to be.

America is currently split between freedom-loving citizens and slavery-loving citizens.  That may be a bit crude for a description of the facts on the ground in America today, but it IS accurate.

The US of A is split right down the middle as I write.  Roughly half her citizens want to remain free while the other half is hell bent on the slavery of socialism.
Our government is in ruins.  Oh, I'm not referring to our "form" of government, I'm referring to the mechanics employed and the philosophy of those supposed to be representing US citizens in the Oval Office and the Congress -- and yes, even our screwed-up Supreme Court. The whole thing is an accursed mess ... and THAT is putting it mildly.

Not to worry.  America has been here twice before and we managed to pull it out both times.  Mind you -- both times required shooting wars on our shores to sort things out, but fortunately for us, and for the remainder of the free world, we Americans are nothing if we aren't warriors.

As I write,  the socialist side of our little disagreement are stocking up on ammo and combat weapons and even heavy armored equipment which they are attempting to conceal by spreading it around amongst the various government agencies.  (Please see:  "DHS To Buy 360,000 More Rounds of Hollow Point Ammunition" at: http://www.infowars.com/dhs-to-buy-360000-more-rounds-of-hollow-point-ammunition/ )

See, the government already knows it cannot depend upon the US military to take the government's side in any future conflict that involves the US government siccing the US military on the citizens of the the US.

One must also understand that the freedom loving citizens of America, too, are armed to the teeth and continue to lay in supplies in preparation for the day the balloon goes up and it becomes necessary to take to the fields, the swamps, the mountains, the streets, and the barricades to defend freedom and the Constitution.

Many have questioned how such a force of citizens could hope to withstand a government military.  Well, there's only about 150,000,000 armed citizens, many, many, already trained by the world's foremost military.  I'd say they have a better that even chance of bringing any opposing force to a stand still, at the very least.  Look at the success of the small forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan against the US Military.  THEY are still there and the US is either gone or leaving.

The feeling that a conflict between Americans is coming is growing in intensity among America's citizens -- and the government.  The political atmosphere  rivals that of the period just prior to the American Civil War in the 1860's.  It resembles two freight trains rushing at full speed toward each other on a single track.  A collision is inevitable.
Now, you readers in parts of the world other than the USA ought to be aware that those glowing reports on Obama, appearing in the American-based mainstream media, do not accurately reflect the facts on the ground in America today.  You should understand that the "Fourth Estate," the press, has utterly abandoned impartiality and adopted a position of advocacy for the Obama administration.  In doing so, they have become a "Fifth Column" undermining the nation.

America is a giant pressure cooker today.  The pressure within continues to build.  At some point the pressure valve will not be able to manage the pressure and there will be an explosion. The higher the pressure the more violent the explosion.

Like a silent game of chess each side moves its pawns, rooks, knights, and bishops  around on the board taking care not to divulge it's strategy.  Even so, occasionally one side or the other tips its hand.  Those of us intently observing the game grasp these little tidbits and mine them for any information we can glean and make every attempt to decipher what we can in order to inform our readers of the REAL state of affairs in America.

So.  While the facade of placidity serves, to some degree, to camouflage the inner turmoil in America today, it is quickly crumbling.

Open confrontation IS coming.  It is only a matter of time.

Understand:  No one else is invited to the party.  It will be an American only affair.  It is OUR problem and it is we who will have to solve it, else it will NEVER be solved.

OK, world.  So now you have had your "heads-up."  All we ask is that you maintain some level of "cool" while we sort through our, uh, difference of opinion reference freedom and slavery here in America.  If "freedom" wins, then America will be back!  If "slavery" wins, well,  good luck!  You're on your own!

Would Jew Believe This? The Story Of Passover.

Posted on 8:17 AM by Unknown
By Findalis
Monkey in the Middle

For my regular readers:

I have been in the hospital for the last 5 days, missed the first Seder night, and haven't been able to post in all that time.  So I'm posting these old posts for the holiday of Passover.

*************************************************************************

A young boy returned home from Hebrew school, washed his hands and sat down to dinner.

His father asked him what he learned that day in school.

The boy replied that the Rabbi told his class the most amazing story of how the Jews were rescued from the Land of Egypt and brought to the Land of Israel.

His father smiled and asked his son to relate the story the Rabbi told them.

"Sure Dad," the boy said.  "Now this story happened a long time ago, before the time of CNN.  Before the time of computers, and cell phones.  Before even TV.  I think it was in the 1920s or so it happened.

"Egypt was ruled by this guy named Pharaoh.  I think it means "Nasty Egyptian". And we Jews were his slaves. We didn't like being slaves and prayed to G-d to set us free. G-d heard our prayers and sent us a miracle.

"G-d  sent the IDF back in time to rescue the Children of Israel (I think they rescued the parents too.).  The Commandos diverted the Egyptian Army while the Children and their parents fled to the Red Sea (It was red because G-d turned the water to blood like in Zombie Killers 3.).  There the IDF built Pontoon bridges across the Red Sea for the people to go across.  When the Egypt Army tried to follow, the IDF blew up the bridges.

"Then this guy named Moshe Dayan (He is the head of the IDF, I think. Rabbi said he was G-d's greatest profits.) lead the Children of Israel (and their parents) to Mount Sinai where Moshe lays down the law, destroys the Golden Calf and leads them to Israel.

"But it took them 40 years because nobody had a GPS and Moshe would not ask for directions."

His father had a look upon his face that was a cross between total astonishment and WTF.  "Is this what the Rabbi taught you?"

"No Dad,"  the boy said.  "But you wouldn't believe the crazy story he did tell."
***********************************************************************

Actually I'm not sure that is not the correct story.  It could be giving that a certain Time Lord, his TARDIS and a few units of the IDF could have pulled it off.

But perhaps G-d did it this way:
From Chabad

After many decades of slavery to the Egyptian pharaohs, during which time the Israelites were subjected to backbreaking labor and unbearable horrors, G‑d saw the people's distress and sent Moses to Pharaoh with a message: "Send forth My people, so that they may serve Me." But despite numerous warnings, Pharaoh refused to heed G‑d's command. G‑d then sent upon Egypt ten devastating plagues, afflicting them and destroying everything from their livestock to their crops.

At the stroke of midnight of 15 Nissan in the year 2448 from creation (1313 BCE), G‑d visited the last of the ten plagues on the Egyptians, killing all their firstborn. While doing so, G‑d spared the Children of Israel, "passing over" their homes-hence the name of the holiday. Pharaoh's resistance was broken, and he virtually chased his former slaves out of the land. The Israelites left in such a hurry, in fact, that the bread they baked as provisions for the way did not have time to rise. Six hundred thousand adult males, plus many more women and children, left Egypt on that day, and began the trek to Mount Sinai and their birth as G‑d's chosen people.
*********************************************************************

Or maybe not.  Any way that G-d performed the miracle of the Passover was the correct story.

A national tragedy: We are learning what is really in Obamacare

Posted on 7:05 AM by Unknown

Many thanks to former Speaker Nancy Pelosi for jamming the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act through the House of Representatives so that finally the people could  "find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy," as Ms. Pelosi so famously said two years ago. This unintentional revelation of what goes on in Ms. Pelosi's mind came in the heat of the battle between the liberal Congress and the American people, a majority of whom opposed this first step in a government takeover of our healthcare system. The American people lost that battle.

Of course, now that the odious gunk contained in the Affordable Care Act, now affectionately known as "Obamacare," has started oozing out, even the people who voted to approve the measure now realize how little they knew about it when the vote was taken.

Searching President Barack Obama's florid promises for a truthful statement about all the wonderful things the ACA would do for us is more challenging than Diogenes' trying to find an honest man.

Like your doctor? You can keep your doctor. Nope!
Like your insurance? You can keep your insurance. Nope!
It will lower costs. Nope!

After all the broken promises, there are also some new goodies in Obamacare:

There are 18 new taxes, estimated at about $800 billion, that will mostly affect America's middle class. And inflation, the cruelest tax on the poor, will increase as businesses find their operation burdened with added costs brought about by higher taxes and onerous government mandates, and pass those costs along to the consumer in the form of higher prices.

Obamacare will add $6.2 trillion (That's "trillion" with a "t"!) to the long-term deficit, according to the Government Accountability Office.

Medicare providers will be expected to continue to provide services despite a cut of $716 billion in payments. Added bureaucracy will make applying for health care even more burdensome than it already is; worse than that, an estimated 7 million people will lose their employer-provided health insurance; and worse yet, thousands of workers will find their hours cut or will lose their jobs entirely.

Just what we need: another government mandate that keeps unemployment unacceptably high.

Opponents of Obamacare warned that forcing companies employing 50 or more full-time workers to buy health insurance for their employees would result in a loss of jobs overall, and many full-time workers would have their hours reduced below the 30-hour weekly threshold. Even though the employer mandate does not go into effect until next January, employers are required to track worker's hours for up to 12 months prior to that, meaning that job and hours cuts have already begun so that employers can escape the $2,000 per-worker fine for uncovered employees, or have to bear the even higher costs of providing health insurance to full-time workers.

So, rather than increasing the number of employees getting insurance from their employers as advertised, Obamacare has instead caused employees to have their hours reduced, or cost them their jobs entirely.

These decisions are being made by more than a few businesses. The International Franchise Association finds that 31 percent of franchisees plan to cut staff to avoid Obamacare’s 50-employee mandate, and a study by Mercer consulting firm found that half of businesses that don’t presently offer health insurance plan to reduce employee hours to avoid Obamacare’s penalties.

The food industry has been particularly hard hit, including: Kroger, Wendy's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Burger King, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, and Papa John's Pizza. Also affected are government workers across the nation, for the same reasons.

If not keeping your doctor or your insurance policy if you wanted to is not bad enough, or if thousands of Americans losing the jobs or having their hours reduced to less than 30 a week isn't bad enough, how about thousands of doctors taking down their shingles? According to a survey from the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, 6 in 10 physicians said they expect many of their colleagues to retire earlier than planned in the next 1 to 3 years.

Another 55 percent of doctors surveyed believe many of their colleagues will cut back on their hours because of the way medicine is changing, and 75 percent believe the best and brightest may not consider a career in medicine, up from 69 percent in 2011.

How could the smartest man ever to inhabit the Oval Office have been so desperately wrong? Curious people want to know: Did Barack Obama just not have a clue about what the law that now bears his name would actually do, or did he deliberately deceive people about what it would do in order to gain their support for it?

There is a faction that firmly believes that if people lose their private sector insurance coverage, or can't afford it, that is precisely what Mr. Obama wants, thus making his dream of a single-payer government healthcare system a reality.

So, will our public servants act to relieve us of this Obomination? They should remember that there are Senate and House elections in 2014. And so should we.

The Sun King ... J. D. Longstreet

The Sun King
Obama le Roi-Soleil
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

***************

The record of the legacy of America's own Sun King is being written today by those of the left who feel compelled to maintain the "official" record of the United States' history.

With apologies to the people of France,  we have chosen to describe our President Obama as their Louis the XIV.  At least the official description of him in history books of tomorrow will glow with our Obama's  radiance.

See,  it makes no difference if the Obama Administration is an abject failure, the history books will present him in much the same way as the Cult of Lincoln does the American tyrant -- Abraham Lincoln.

Look.  I'm a southerner, and a student of history ... not an expert on history, not a history "scholar," just a student of history.  As such, I have actually been exposed to the painful truth of our history on many occasions -- and it ain't pretty.

The propagandists who write our history books are almost entirely from the leftist sector of the political spectrum. It is the leftist narrative (story line) they will protect and it is from the point of view of that narrative they will write of President Obama for future students of history.

The truth be damned!  The narrative is the thing!

To be sure -- Obama is THEIR Sun King.

It matters not that Obama has been one of the worst, if not THE worst President America has ever had ... period.  But you will never find any hint of that, or ANY of his short comings, in future history books.  Heck, it is nigh on to impossible to find any mention of Obama's less than sterling leadership abilities or his mediocre talent for governance  in the leftist press, (otherwise known as the Mainstream Media) today.

One would be hard pressed to think of another president of modern times who enjoyed the life of a "jet-setter" while in office, especially when the country is in such perilous shape.  The only other playboy, jet setter, president who comes to mind -- in fairly recent decades -- is JFK.  But then JFK came into office riding on a cushion of money from his father's former bootlegging business.  (Hey!  That's not a put down.  MY family had its share of bootleggers, too!  Mine even made the stuff they sold! In fact, I'm sorta partial to bootleggers.)

As I said above, I am a southerner.  I grew up under an imposed cloud of lies and, even to this day, we southern folk are compelled to defend our families from the stench of the lies surrounding the so-called American Civil War.  The REAL history of that war and the reasons for that war bear almost no resemblance to the "official" history of the same event.

Consider this:  "Much of Civil War history is untrue.  The story is told that millions of southerners went to war over an issue that only affected some 6 percent of the population.  Such absurdity is readily seen.

There was no shining Northern force fighting a moral battle for the sake of ending slavery.  There was no oppressive southern force fighting to preserve slavery, either.  After the south declared its independence, the Union ruthlessly invaded, leaving Southerners no choice but to defend themselves.

Unfortunately the south lost that struggle and has suffered for a century and a half because of it."
(Taken from the book "The South Was Right" by James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy published by Pelican.)

It riles me to think, as I sometimes do, that the South contains approximately one-third of the American people.  Yet the southern states, even to this day, enjoy less freedom than the remainder of the so-called "United" States.  Even our elections, in a number of southern states, are governed by the US Federal Judiciary.  And consider this.  Only one justice on the US Supreme Court is a southerner.  I take great pride in the fact that HE is a southern black man. (You may recall the terrific fight we had getting Clarence Thomas of Georgia seated on that court.)

(As of 2010, the Court has a majority from the Northeastern United States, with seven justices coming from states to the north and east of Washington, D.C.. The remaining two justices come from Georgia and California, respectively.)

The "Cult of Lincoln" has so obscured the deviousness of the man, that modern Americans will never actually know who Lincoln really was -- a lying, two-faced, back stabbing, racist, politician who's mental elevator didn't go all the way to the top.  Now, however, he is celebrated as an  American demi-god.

We can expect a "Cult of Obama," as well.  He cannot be allowed to fail, you see, for the historical record. No matter that our history is, for the most part, revisionist history.  But, then again, nearly ALL official history is "revised."  Practically all real, un-revised, history (with warts, hairs and all) is deeply hidden.   A student of history today MUST be an accomplished researcher.

So, the historical record of America's Sun King will be written in glowing accounts of his accomplishments with no mention of the lasting damage to the constitution and to the generations of Americans yet unborn.

Are We Being "Set-Up?" ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 11:13 PM by Unknown
Are We Being "Set-Up?"

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

****************

I can't put my finger on it, but I have this nagging feeling that Senator Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban is not gone. My paranoia tells me the democrats are going to squeeze it through a "back door" somehow.

There are those among gun right's advocates who believe that having Feinstein’s assault weapons ban tacked onto another(a different) gun control bill, of some kind, will make it easier to pass the Senate.

Consider this:  "It’s a trap! It’s a non-event. What’s going to happen is they’re going to take another bill, and that could be the veterans’ gun ban and then bring that to the floor,” said Mike Hammond, chief counsel for Gun Owners of America, a pro-Second Amendment group.

Hammond said bringing a less controversial bill to the floor will make it easier to find the 60 votes needed to open debate.

Hammond said Feinstein’s proposed ban on “assault weapons” will be offered as an amendment to Reid’s bill.

“Furthermore, they’ll probably break off a magazine ban and offer that as an amendment to that. Furthermore, they’ll probably take a universal gun registry and offer that as an amendment to that,” Hammond told WND.

“When Harry Reid says he’s dropping Feinstein from the bill, what he means is it’s not going to be in the bill which is reported to the Senate, but it will be offered on the Senate floor,” he said. “So the question we’re asking is, ‘Why in heaven’s name should anyone vote for this underlying vehicle when we’re being told in advance it’s going to be nothing but a vehicle for a gun-control buffet?’”  Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2013/03/its-a-trap-watch-out-for-gun-safety-bill/#j0wfdKpS4Wl7APpy.99

Just saying "I don't trust the Senate" would be a huge understatement.

Too, I am troubled that Senator Feinstein did not raise a ruckus.  You'd think she'd be throwing a conniption fit in front of very camera in sight -- if she were, in fact, REALLY upset that her baby, the Assault Weapons Ban, was killed by Harry Reid.  But she hasn't.  THAT is truly puzzling.   It is very unlike Feinstein to accept defeat so easily.  I'm just not buying it.

(Oh.  If you are wondering what a conniption fit is, well, it is a regional thing.

Here in the southeastern US a conniption fit is a bit more physical than a hissy fit.   Throwing a hissy fit does not require physical gestures including punching something or someone.  A conniption fit, on the other hand, is basically a hissy fit with physical gestures, which may, as we said above, include the act of punching someone in the nose.  Just thought you ought to know.)

In my opinion, for gun rights folks to claim victory over the assault weapons ban is premature.  In fact, now would be the time to really bring the hammer down by increasing the pressure on those senators who might be wavering.

The White House has indicated it has not thrown in the towel on the AWB.  I expect we will see a good deal of arm twisting by Obama -- and -- that pressure is certain to change the minds of some of the weaker members of the senate. Remember Obamacare?

Then there is the "wild card."  All it will take is for another nut job with a gun to go on a killing spree to resurrect the AWB and get it passed in the senate in the twinkling of an eye.

Even though I am concerned about the AWB, I am equally concerned over the Universal Background Check legislation.  So far as I am concerned, the Universal Background Check is a gun registry by another name.  If anything gets through the Congress it will be the UBC.

Senator Charles Schumer, D-NY, has referred to background checks as the “sweet spot” of gun control legislation.  It's THAT important to gun control legislation.

We're now at a critical juncture for gun control legislation in the US Congress. Now is not the time to relax, or let our guards down. The Second Amendment is in peril.  It is up to freedom-loving Americans to offer an unflagging defense of the amendment that protects all the rest.  If the Second Amendment goes, the entire Bill of Rights and the Constitution will go with it.

Obama: The American Chávez ... J. D. Longstreet

Obama: The American Chávez
The President Who Would Be Dictator
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*****************

“These last few years we’ve seen an unacceptable abuse of power at home. We’ve paid a heavy price for having a president whose priority is expanding his own power.”    You'd never guess it today, but these words are from a speech by President Obama back in 2007 when he was a candidate for President.   You may read more here: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/03/19/186309/obama-turning-to-executive-power.html#storylink=cpy

Washington -- We've got a problem!

Just last year, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, from the floor of the US Senate said: “The president looks more and more like a king that the Constitution was designed to replace.”

The senator is correct.  Current presidents have entirely too much power.

OK.  So I KNOW the constitution grants presidents the power to issue executive actions and orders.  But it seems to me, The Founders never suspected the American people would elect people of questionable character to such a high office.

BOY, did we EVER blow THAT ONE!

We have amended the constitution 27 times already.  (The 21st is simply the repeal of a different one -- the 18th, prohibition). A number of other amendments have been offered but have not been submitted to the states for ratification.

Methinks it is time to offer another, a 28th Amendment, to the constitution that will limit the power of the President. The authority of that office is obviously too powerful to be entrusted to modern human beings.

The intent of my proposed amendment would be to end the power of the Executive Office to issue executive orders -- especially such orders as would instruct the creation of any rule or regulation that would have the "effect" of law.

With the Congress split as it is, with democrats holding the Senate and republicans holding the House of  Representatives, it is impossible to get such an amendment through both houses and on to the states.

But WAIT!  That isn't necessary.  The states, themselves, can call an "Article V Convention."  It must be called by two-thirds of the states, and ratified by three-fourths of the states or by three-fourths of conventions thereof, the method of ratification being determined by Congress at the time of proposal.  SOURCE:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_amendments_to_the_United_States_Constitution

Just because a President is upset that the Congress is not bowing to his every whim, just because Congress is dead-locked, is no reason, in my estimation, for a political coup de tat by a president of either party.

The current generation of "instant gratification" Americans are dumb as a post about the constitution and how their government is supposed to work under that constitution.  Our government was not designed to rubber stamp a president.  It was designed to deliberate, to debate, to mull, to argue, disagree, to thrash out, and finally, FINALLY, produce legislation that is the least restrictive of the freedom of all Americans.

Look.  We have a staid congress these days compared to those Congresses of yesteryear.   It's been a while since we have had a brawl, or a fist fight, or a physical beat down on the floor of either of the houses of Congress.  But we have had them.

Consider this: "Tension was high and tempers flared during every Congressional session in the years leading up to and including the Civil War period in history. In an 1850 debate about slavery, Thomas Benton, a Democrat from Missouri who opposed slavery, became so angry at his fellow Democrat, Henry Foote of Mississippi that he verbally attacked him on the Senate floor. Foote drew a pistol from his Senate desk and pointed it at Benton. Their colleagues stopped the argument before Foote could pull the trigger. The Senate was adjourned so the members could leave for a "cooling off period" prior to returning the next day.

Foote would later become governor of Mississippi.
"  SOURCE:  http://thelmac.hubpages.com/hub/Violence-in-the-US-Congress-Fistfights-on-the-Senate-Floor

Here's another example (from the same source) of, uh, shall we say, loss of decorum in the Congress: "In 1798 when Roger Griswold, a Federalist Congressman from Connecticut got into a heated debate with Matthew Lyon, a Vermont Democratic-Republican. Griswold made the mistake of calling Lyon a scoundrel (a word that was considered profanity at the time). Lyon then spit in Griswold's face and there was no stopping the ensuing melee. Neither Griswold or Lyon believed in the proverb, "forgive and forget". A few weeks later, Griswold attacked Lyon on the Senate floor with a cane and then Lyon went after him with a pair of fire tongs.

Lyon was the first Congressman to be charged with an ethics violation due to the spitting episode. The Ethics Committee recommended he be censured but the matter was ultimately dropped."

And WE think gridlock is terrible!  WE plead for bipartisanship when partisanship is NORMAL. We complain when Congress does not pass laws.  Never once do we stop to consider that every law Congress passes deprives some Americans of freedom.

Americans are clambering today for a strong central government which is antithetical to the constitution.  Why?  Because, in my opinion, we have so many immigrants who come from countries with strong central governments. They are, in my opinion,  uncomfortable with personal responsibility, personal and individual liberties, and had rather have a centralized government they can learn to "play" and to "milk" for everything they can get --  while not taking responsibility for anything.

THAT is flat-out un-American!   At least it has been until today.

Our Machiavellian President, with cunning and duplicity, is happy to oblige -- assuming a Hugo Chávez type administration and ruling by fiat, otherwise known as Executive Orders.

This must be stopped.  If it requires a constitutional amendment to stop it, then by all means, let's get on with it. The sooner, the better.
