Conservatives Forward! ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 9:30 PM by Unknown
Conservatives Forward!
J. D. Longstreet

*******************
Sometime ago, a friend asked me what I thought President Ronald Reagan would think of Obama.

It only took a moment to answer. "He'd laugh," I said. Then I added: "A real side-splitter!" It was an honest answer and one I believe is true.

I think Ronald Reagan, if he were to suddenly re-appear upon this earth for a brief visit and be told that Obama was President, would, indeed, break up in near uncontrollable laughter.

Reagan would think someone was playing a practical joke on him. He would just KNOW Americans had better sense! I can hear Ronnie saying, "Why, he's just a, uh, child! A grown man, yes. But, still a naive child. A narcissistic child, at that!" Then, he'd laugh again, enjoying the joke, still unconvinced that Americans could do that to themselves and their country.

After Reagan had watched a few videos of Obama's speeches, the smile would slowly drain from Reagan's face as he scanned the adoring, worshipful, faces of the crowd while some fainted in their passion for the boy/man "messiah" and I can hear the crestfallen President say in a voice grown husky in bitter remembrance: "I've seen those faces before.... in Berlin in the 1930's."

Then, Ronald Reagan would weep.

A friend sent me the piece below a few days ago. I have no idea who put it together, but I'd like to thank them.

As America continues her decline and collapse, under the heavy hand of socialism, Americans are going to need memories of the America we used to know to hold on to, to sustain us, until we can rescue our beloved America from the clutches of the power-hungry, left-wing elite currently strangling the life out of her.

As you read the "Reagan Gems" below and remember the America of greatness, the America that once led the world, challenge yourself to do all in your power to keep those memories alive. And prepare. As Thomas Jefferson said: “Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God."

I have often thought that democracy is quite likely the greatest gamble a nation can take. For there is no guarantee "The People" will not vote in a tyrant as their leader. When that happens, as it sometimes does, (See: Middle Eastern Arab Spring) then, it is up to the same people to prepare for the tyrants reign -- and -- the tyrant's removal.

British author Aldous Huxley once said: "So long as men worship the Caesars and Napoleons, the Caesars and Napoleons will arise to make them miserable." That was the danger some of us on the right tried so dutifully to warn America of during the last presidential campaign.

Thomas Jefferson once said: "Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

I ask you to look objectively at our government today and ask yourself if you are truly comfortable with that much power in the hands of THOSE people. If you find you are comfortable, then, dear reader, you need to wake up and begin paying attention!

Now we have the yoke of socialism chained across our shoulders and around our necks. We Americans, yes, WE placed it there. Soon we will be completely dependent upon the government for our very existence. To my fellow Americans I say, that is NOT living FREE! That is SLAVERY!

To see what a REAL President says, and means, and believes... read the "Reagan Gems" below:
*********************

'Here's my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose.'- Ronald Reagan

'The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.' - Ronald Reagan

'The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so'- Ronald Reagan

'Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.' - Ronald Reagan

'I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.'- Ronald Reagan

'The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination.'- Ronald Reagan

'Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.'- Ronald Reagan

'The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.'- Ronald Reagan

'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.'- Ronald Reagan

'Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.' Ronald Reagan

'Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book.'- Ronald Reagan

'No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'- Ronald Reagan

'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.'- Ronald Reagan

**********************

Reagan is gone and there will never be another.
I am reminded of the expression:  “Leaders, like eagles, do not flock.  You find them one at a time.”  On could add, I suppose, that leaders come few and far between, too.

I think Reagan would be disappointed in the  conservative movement in America today,  as well. The conservative movement in America is currently leaderless – and it is hurting badly.
One thing that has become crystal clear, however, during this aimless period (at least to this scribe) is that the conservative movement no longer belongs in the Republican Party.

In recent years the GOP has been moving ever leftward and, dear reader, conservatives should have no truck with leftists – even leftists in the Republican Party.

Let’s face it.  We conservatives have never been completely welcome in the GOP. We’ve been tolerated and treated like the storied red-headed stepchild.

Methinks America needs a conservative political party which will be THE Conservative Party.

Oh, there are conservative political parties dotting the political landscape in America -- and none of them very effective. Bring those conservatives all together under a single banner and their energy, zeal, enthusiasm, and will to win would be darn near unstoppable.  But splintered, as we are, we are easy targets for the left, which gives no quarter to their adversaries.

One week after the last election, in November of 2012, after having been a republican for nearly fifty years, I changed my registration to Independent (“Unaffiliated” in North Carolina).   I had come to believe that the GOP no longer represented my political belief nor my core values.  I was, and I am, a conservative first. I have never looked back.

There is no “good time” to found a political party.  An election is always “just around the corner.” Having said that … it seems to me that now, RIGHT NOW, is as good a time as any, possibly the best time we’re going to get, to lay the foundation for a conservative party, THE party of record for conservatives.

I am convinced that if conservatives are to ever again have meaningful influence on the national politics of America; we are going to have to do it marching under our own colors.
We conservatives need to disassociate ourselves from a political party that has adopted so much of the left’s agenda that, at times, the difference is indiscernible.

We find ourselves at one of those proverbial crossroads that all living persons, all organizations, and all movements approach from time to time in their life spans. Everything changes (or not) depending upon the direction of travel we choose from this point forward.

Our nation has sunk so far, so fast, that many of us are reeling from the destructive momentum.  The national morality has tanked. The very word “America” has become as a noxious odor in the nostrils of God.  It is truly frightening to recall that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for far lesser infractions than those of which America is guilty today.

I am convinced that if America is to be saved, IF American CAN be saved, the conservatives of this nation MUST be in the vanguard of the liberating force.  We can’t do that from the back benches of the Republican Party.

Zimmerman case: a mock trial in a kangaroo court

Zimmerman case: a mock trial in a Kangaroo court

George Zimmerman’s mock trial continues in a kangaroo courtroom within the boundaries of Sanford Florida. Prosecution witnesses are making the case for Zimmerman’s attorneys, who are picking them apart one by one. Plaintiff witnesses appear unprepared, ill-informed to subject matters under discussion and deceptive on cross examination. Prosecutors have a mountain of exculpatory evidence, which displays Zimmerman’s innocence. Yet an orchestrated rush to judgment by media moguls and an out of control Department of Justice caused this mock trial to go forward. Trayvon Martin’s death is a tragedy no doubt, but the fraudulent substance of this case should never have seen the inside of a courtroom. Trayvon Martin’s parents have profited handsomely from this egregious event, receiving a multiple million dollar settlement from the community where he died. Neither guilt nor innocence were on the minds of community leaders when they forked out the money. Instead, reprisal in some format was their greatest fear.  Martin’s parents continue their travels to receive support, while the case is still hot.

Race has been the central core of this prosecution. Plaintiff’s attorneys have stumbled in their attempts to flood the jury’s ears with any element of race they could bring to bear in this case. The ugliness of the prosecutions overreach to find an innocent man guilty goes to a deeper issue, plaintiff attorneys manufactured a racial issue to move this case forward, enabled by the media. In the event the prosecution had one ounce of honesty within its legal team they would have stated Zimmerman’s lack of knowledge of Trayvon’s race. As a reminder this horrific event occurred in the early evening hours of the 26th of February 2012. Darkness was encroaching the area involved, accompanied by rain. George Zimmerman initiated his ill-fated follow of Trayvon without any preconceived notion of his race. Crime in the community was on an upswing and neighborhood watch groups were attempting to get a handle on the problem. In Zimmerman’s mind Trayvon appeared suspicious and he followed him. The rest is history. The Department of Justice forced a case based on race down Florida’s proverbial throat. In essence, the Justice Department and Eric Holder are on Trial.  With their win at all costs attitude Zimmerman’s innocence is secondary. Accusing Zimmerman of a racial hate crime, when all the facts point in another direction, displays a Department of Justice that has no sense of righteousness or morality. When George Zimmerman wins this case and he will, Holder should be forced to relinquish his position. Unfortunately, Holder has immunity from prosecution, yet he deserves the same legal wrath he brought to bear on Zimmerman. The Descending Darkness of Obamacare ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 9:32 PM by Unknown
The Descending Darkness of Obamacare
"Waiting for the Stars to Shine Through"
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

****************

Back in March of 2005, I wrote the following:  “National Health Care is a Socialist dream.  It is also a Conservative’s worst nightmare.”   Americans are about to wake up “to," not “from," that nightmare!

Now, if you really want the government to have control of your life, I mean every facet of your life, then a National Healthcare program is EXACTLY what you want!  If, on the other hand, you want to preserve your freedom, then a national healthcare program is the last thing on this earth you want.

We are, of course, referring to Obamacare, which is now the law of the land.

Look, “womb to tomb healthcare” has so many strings attached that it isn’t worth the hassle , the increase in taxes, and the decrease in the quality of health care that has already begun as a result of the most intrusive government program ever devised by the mind of man.

Already, the damage done to the world’s premier healthcare system has been devastating.  The money saving schemes sold to corporations to reduce that corporation’s expenditure on it’s employees group healthcare programs, of many varieties, has devastated healthcare in the US.

Once, just a few short years ago, the US healthcare system was the envy of the world. No nation on this planet enjoyed the quality of healthcare as did Americans.  That is no longer the case. The US healthcare system has fallen far down the list from the number one position it held a decade, or two, ago.

But, if you happen to suffer from a chronic disease and require frequent medical attention, you already know that.  In my case, I have required 80 some odd hospitalizations since 1965.  Doctor’s office visits for me run about one or more a month or six weeks.  Now, during all those years of experience with doctors and hospitals I have been in an unenviable position, which enabled me to observe the decline of healthcare in this country.

These days hospitals and doctor’s offices run patients through the system at a rate, which approximates that of a downhill bobsled run!

Patients wait in the doctor’s waiting room for an hour to have the privilege of spending 5 or 6  minutes with your doctor.  Does anyone actually expect even the country’s best doctors to be able to accurately diagnose an illness in five minutes? Sure, things like a cold, the flue, etc. But a serious illness is going to be missed.  If the patient insists there is something seriously wrong, then the patient is hit with a battery of tests that cost in the thousands of dollars and yet depend upon the trained eye of the specialist to interpret.  It becomes a circus.

Hospitals are sending patients home “quicker and sicker” than ever before.  In my case the same illness used to require ten days to two weeks of hospital time -- plus 30 days of recovery at home before I could return to work.In the last decade, or so, the same illness requires a hospital stay of three days, four days tops!  What has changed?  The way, in which, the insurance companies pay the hospitals.  These days a hospital is forced to move patients through their system and continuously bring new patients in, and through, the system, at as fast a pace as is possible in order to stay profitable.  Non-profits have to do it to remain open.  It reminds one of the necessity of a shark to maintain forward motion in order to "breathe" and maintain life.

As a result the emphasis, in the American healthcare system today, has shifted from the care of the patient… to the viability of the practice as a business, or the hospital as a business.  The quality of care, for the patient, is nowhere near what it was just 20 years ago.

Now, the dark forces of the American Left have arranged to have the government deliver your healthcare.  That sound you hear is the “death knell” of the American healthcare system.

Back in March of 2005, I wrote the following:

“National Health Insurance” is one of the primary tools used by a government to control her people.  That alone is enough for me to be whole-heartedly against it.

Now, lets get something straight… I believe the health insurance companies, in America, deserve what they get.  They have been, in my opinion, abusing their subscribers for entirely too long.  Rates have risen thru the roof at an undeservedly fast pace.  Sure medical costs have gone up, but not at the percentages your insurance premiums have gone up.  This has to stop.  But National Health Care is a cure worse than the disease.

More government in our lives is more than just a little bit scary.  Once National Healthcare is implemented, and don’t get me wrong, I believe some form will be, your life will be under the control of the administrators of that insurance.

For Instance, lets say you have an obesity problem.  You have developed a heart problem as a result of the obesity.  You need treatment for your heart. National Health Care says: “OK, we will not pay for the heart treatment until you lose weight”.    Or, they provide all citizens with a chart, approved by the FDA, of the “Approved Foods” all citizens should eat.  They make it clear that if you cannot show proof of having ingested those “approved” foods, on a regular basis, also decided by them, you Health Insurance is no good.  You will not receive treatment.

Or, another example, you may be allowed to have one child only.  It must be a boy. (See China.)  If you choose to have another baby, after the approved ONE, the costs will come out of your pocket.  Get the picture?

Now, this does not take into account the reduced quality of care we will receive from the medical community.  Their hearts will not be it.  After 8 years. or so, in school, to learn their profession -- and they -- will become “salaried government employees”.  Need I say more?

The left is hell-bent on imposing such a system on the citizens of this country.  That is another reason we must refuse them power, ever again, in the Congress.  At least in numbers large enough to affect legislation.

National health care is a socialist's dream.  It is also a Conservative’s worst nightmare.

We must be on our guard, for some form of national health care is about to raise its ugly head in the nation’s legislature.  It is time for conservatives to exercise their power and stop it in its tracks as we did the “Clinton Care” attempt in the ‘90s.

Lets get it done."SOURCE:  INSIGHT on Freedom:  http://www.insightonfreedom.blogspot.com/2006/11/dark-forces-of-left-insistent-on.html

That was written in March of 2005. Some eighteen months after its publication the democrats had control of the Congress.  Their goal was to bring socialist change to this country. They did that as quickly as they could before the American electorate had recovered from the shock of the election.

Let’s face it.  The America my generation grew up with, a global super power, a nation that could not fail… because it did not believe in failure, a nation that had a vision unlimited even by the sky, is gone.  What we are left with is a defeated, deflated, depressed, democrat socialist country, with its core slowly rotting away.

Obamacare, the national healthcare system we warned America of, will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of a proud, independent, and free, America.

Those Americans among us, who still value freedom, must continue to fight Obamacare even unto our last breath. We must ignore the laughter, the smirks, the out and out denigration from the left and maintain our drive toward repealing Obamacare.

We have been leaderless in the Congress for a long time now.  Now there appears HOPE on the political horizon!

Thank Providence, a leader SEEMS to be morphing from the ranks of the young conservatives who were sent to Washington to stop the backwards slide and the leftward tilt of the GOP, which had seemed dead set on suicide for many long months.
I hesitate to even mention the name of this human "catalyst" for fear that I will be disappointed once again. But I can tell you this:  He has an Hispanic name, is of Cuban extraction, born in Canada, lives in Texas (Where else?), is a lawyer, and is now a junior Senator, who, for all intents and purposes, is powerless -- and yet -- has the power to strike fear in the hearts of the democrats, the entire left, much of the GOP, liberal republicans, the leftist media, and -- a "slew" of conservatives who fear that he is NOT legally qualified to be a candidate for President of the United States.

I know it appears hopeless. I continue to remind myself -- from deep inside the moribund democratic cloak of darkness smothering freedom in the USA literally "to death," -- that "It must be dark before one can see the stars."

Well, it sure as heck IS dark!  Is that pinprick of light in our darkness a star we see, or is it the brilliant blase of a penny match at the apex of its short but fiery existence?  The answer is yet to be determined.

Russia Is Pulling Out Of Syria

Posted on 3:22 PM by Unknown
By Findalis
Monkey in the Middle

And they are doing it fast.  Very fast.

You know that things are heating up in Syria when longtime ally of Bashar al-Assad's Syria is pulling their troops out of Syria.  Add to that Israel going on high alert, President Obama and his Security Council is not concerned, and one can expect the area to blow up soon.
Shortly after the DEBKA aired a special video on the Syrian war’s widening circle, Moscow announced Wednesday June 26, that the evacuation which had begun Friday of all military and diplomatic personnel from Syria was now complete, including the Russian naval base at Tartus.

“Russia decided to withdraw its personnel because of the risks from the conflict in Syria, as well as the fear of an incident involving the Russian military that could have larger consequences,” said a defense ministry official in Moscow. He stressed that a 16-ship naval task force in the eastern Mediterranean remains on post and arms shipments, including anti-air weapons, would continue to the Syrian government in keeping with former contracts.

In another sign of an impending escalation in Syria, the Israeli Golan brigade staged Wednesday an unannounced war maneuver on the Golan, attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and top army chiefs. In London, Prime Minister David Cameron called the government’s National Security Council into session in Downing Street on Syria. Opposition leader Ed Milliband was invited to attend the meeting, a custom observed only when issues of the highest security importance are discussed.

Earlier Wednesday, debkafile carried the following report in its special video presentation under the heading: Putin and Obama cross swords on Syrian. What Next?

The sullen confrontation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama at the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland last week condemned Syria to five months of escalating, unresolved vicious warfare – that is until the two leaders meet again in September.

For now, tempers are heating up between Washington and Moscow on Syria and other things too, notably the elusive American fugitive Edward Snowden.

Click here if the video doesn't load.

US and Israeli intelligence watchers see the Syrian crisis entering seven ominous phases:

1. The Syrian army plus allies and the fully-mobilized opposition will hurl all their manpower and weapons into winning the city.

Military experts don’t expect the rebels to hold out against Assad’s forces beyond late August.

2. Neither side has enough manpower or game-changing weaponry for winning the war outright.

That is, unless Presidents Obama or Putin steps in to retilt the balance.

3. The US and Russia are poised for more military intervention in the conflict up until a point just short of a military clash on Syrian soil – or elsewhere in the Middle East. US intelligence analysts have judged Putin ready to go all the way on Syria against the US - no holds barred.

The Russian president is meanwhile deliberately goading Washington and raising temperatures by playing hide-and-seek over the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, charged with espionage for stealing and leaking classified intelligence. At home, he is considered variously as a traitor and a brave whistleblower.

For several hours Snowden vanished between Hong Kong and Moscow – until the Russian president admitted he was holed up in the transit area of Moscow airport and would not be extradited by Russia to the United States.

4. Iran, Hizballah and Iraq will likewise ratchet up their battlefield presence.

5. A violent encounter is building up between Middle East Shiites flocking to Syria to save the Assad regime alongside Russia, and the US-backed Sunni-dominated rebel forces.

It could scuttle the secret US-Iranian negotiating track on its nuclear program, which was buoyed up by the election of the pragmatic Hassan Rouhani as President of Iran.

6. The Geneva-2 Conference for a political solution for the Syrian crisis is dead in the water. Moscow and the US are divided by unbridgeable issues of principle, such whether Bashar Assad should stay or go and Iranian representation.

7. So long as the diplomatic remains stuck in the mud, the prospects of a regional war spreading out of the Syrian conflict are rising. Iran, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon may be dragged in at any moment – if they have not already, like Lebanon.

A small mistake by one of the Syrian warring parties in Syria could, for example, touch off Israeli retaliation and a wholesale spillover of violence.

What we are seeing is the product of President Barack Hussein Obama's foreign policy of leading from behind.  Behind truly is.  As we are getting the shaft right up our Ass.

Marco Rubio: more Democrat than Republican

Marco Rubio: more Democrat than Republican

Marco Rubio’s fraudulent immigration bill is nothing more than a series of false assertions that hide the truth of this pending legislation. Rubio has been all over the media with interviews, commercials and ads purporting immigration reform is a moral imperative. On close examination of his words, they are nothing but a series of misrepresentations and outright lies. His claim that illegals will not receive federal entitlements if legalized is a sham. Most entitlements are managed by state political machinery not on the federal level. Presently millions of our friends from south of the border partake in these goodies and that will continue under his immigration disaster. With few exceptions for those with criminal backgrounds, all those illicitly in America are welcome under his plan. Rubio wants to bring his illicit comrades out of the shadows so they will eventually become taxpaying members of this society. The truth is once legalized the Democratic Party will have tens of millions of new voters, guaranteeing the left stays in power for decades to come. Border security was never his or the “Gang of Eight’s” top priority. Instead, Rubio and his collaborators buried the most important element of immigration reform deep in this fraudulent legislative effort, legalizing illegals first then finding solutions for border security later. Rubio has been flooded with negative fanfare concerning his border security stance. His first response was the fines from illegals, on the path to citizenship, would help pay for a secured border. When that crock of nonsense didn’t fly, the Gang of Eight derived a 30 billion dollar scheme to enhance border security. This waste of taxpayer funds comes with one caveat, the Executive Branch will be left in charge of these funds, therefore nothing will change on the border. One lie after the next from this once rising star in the Republican Party. Immigration reform may not be dead. Yet, the scent of this decaying legislative effort has been sensed by tens of millions, who know when they are being scammed. Rubio may intend to run for President. The question is: in which party? Obama's New Crisis: Global Warming ... J. D. Longstreet

Obama's New Crisis:  Global Warming
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************
Ever since Obama's swearing in the US has lurched from one crisis to another, ever off kilter, never quite getting a grasp of the real situation, rushed toward an Obama sponsored answer to a problem that we are not quite sure actually IS a problem to begin with.

This, dear reader, is a methodology as old as con men.
And who can dispute we have a world class con man splendidly hunkered down in the Oval Office of the US government?

For the past four-and-a-half years the whole country has been subject to a good old-fashioned "bum's rush" by Obama and his Progressive/Marxist/Socialist minions. It has been well planned, well orchestrated and well played, for the most part, by the legions of experts at Obama's beck and call.   As a result America has something we call "Obamacare" a form of socialized medicine that has already begun to deconstruct the
world's finest healthcare system in favor of a slide back to the days when doctor's danced around the bedside of the sick waving fathers, blowing smoke, and shaking gourds containing a few loose grains of sand, some dried beans, and an okra seed or two to enhance the, er, music, with which the healing spirits are summoned from that night sky galaxy containing the campfires of the dead.  It's all very "Hollywoodish," but not very effective at healing the sick and/or the wounded.

Currently, even as I write, Obama and his henchmen are ramming a so-called Immigration Reform bill through the Congress.  Most of America is reeling from the  lightening like speed with which the bill is moving.   It is ONLY 1200 pages of new law, yet practically nobody has actually read the accursed thing -- but -- they are going to vote to pass that piece of garbage into law. (At least the Senate is expected to pass immigration reform.  The House of Representatives MAY NOT.)

And already, the initial steps are being set up, and played out just outside the spotlight, to ram through the next big Obama nocturnal emission -- saving the world from Global Warming.

Never mind that there is no such thing as Global Warming.  That doesn't matter, you see. It's just more of the same --  a continuing, all encompassing,  power grab by the "progressive overlords of the USA."

Just as Obamacare was so carefully designed by its creators to fail, so will be the new war on global warming.  Both are crafty "herding" and "shepherding" machinations intended to drive great masses of Americans into the arms of government for succor.   Obamacare is, of course, intended to eventually become a single payer, one hundred percent, government run healthcare program -- just as soon as the current iteration crashes and burns and the voters demand something to replace it.

Obama's war of global warming is something else altogether, but it, too, is designed to regulate practically every aspect of your life.  Put the two together -- Obamacare and the WGW (War on Global Warming) and the end result is a people totally dependent upon the government for their day to day existence.  We are describing a dictatorship, here -- a Marxist/Socialist/Communist dictatorship -- where the USA used to reside.

Obama's Ministry of Propaganda, otherwise known as the Mainstream Media, has already taken its cue and  pranced to center stage with a myriad of stories, articles, features, and pubic service announcements assuring us of the imminent end of the world due to man's polluting the globe with his existence upon it.  You can expect this avalanche of global warming propaganda to only become deeper -- and more insistent -- as Obama nears a launching day for his proposed laws to save mankind from himself.

"Not only has our planet stopped warming, but we may be headed toward a vast cooling period."  SOURCE: http://www.policymic.com/articles/3824/a-really-inconvenient-truth-global-warming-is-not-real

Read the next paragraph slowly and digest it carefully:

"New data shows that in fact the Earth has not warmed at all over the last 15 years. In fact, the Daily Mail reports that the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit, after taking data from nearly 30,000 stations around the world, have found that the earth stopped warming in 1997. The report suggests we are headed toward a new solar cycle, Cycle 25, which NASA scientists have predicted will be significantly cooler than Cycle 24 which we are in now. This data largely contradicts the accepted theory among the public that carbon dioxide pollution is causing global warming and even proposes that we are actually heading toward global cooling."  SOURCE:  http://www.policymic.com/articles/3824/a-really-inconvenient-truth-global-warming-is-not-real

(We recommend you read the entire article at Policymic.com here:  http://www.policymic.com/articles/3824/a-really-inconvenient-truth-global-warming-is-not-real )

When the big push begins and Obama's troops take to the field to convince Americans that global warming is not only real but WE are the cause of it, we will be exposed to the greatest up-ending of truth ever experienced by man.  That which is truth will become a lie and that which is a lie will become the truth.

Fore warned is fore armed.  We know it is coming. We also know that too much of our legislative branch of the government is weak-kneed enough that they will present no barrier, no impediment, at all, to implementation of Obama's scheme to regulate the freedom of Americans into oblivion.

Consider this:  "Since 1998, 31,000 scientists have signed a petition agreeing with the fact that there is no scientific evidence or consensus that man-made global warming exists while the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has the support of only 2,500 scientists. Yet, for some reason it is accepted that global warming is scientifically undeniable."  SOURCE:   http://www.policymic.com/articles/3824/a-really-inconvenient-truth-global-warming-is-not-real

Why, do you suppose, so much of the world has bought into the lie that is global warming?  Could it be there's something else going here, I mean -- other than climatology and meteorology?

The Lynching of Paula Deen ... J. D. Longstreet

The Lynching of Paula Deen
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
**************

What we are experiencing with Paula Deen is nothing more than a modern day lynching.

Let's be clear:  I don't care for Ms. Deen's politics.  I don't even like her cooking show -- and I am a born and bred southerner.  In fact, I am a bit embarrassed at what appears to be the forced over-usage of the southern word "y'all" by Ms. Deen.

But what got my dander up was the vicious attack on a woman honorable enough to answer a lawyer's question truthfully.

Look. Ms Deen did not HAVE to tell the truth.  She could have lied -- as our President is fast becoming infamous for doing.

I am also sick and tired of the hypocrisy of the black community, a "protected" minority, in America.  If they can use the "N" word,  then white folks ought to be allowed to use it just as easily, and as frequently, as they do -- and with absolutely no repercussions.

There is an old expression:  "If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas."  It's another way of saying be careful with whom you associate.
Ms. Deen is reported to have campaigned for President Obama and even had Mrs. Obama as a guest on her TV show.  She could not have associated herself with more leftist leftists!  Yet, it is the political left after her head today.  She has learned, too late, that no matter who you are -- the left will throw you under the bus if they even THINK it is expedient to further their progressive agenda.

In my opinion, Ms. Deen should never, never, have apologized.  It was a sign of weakness and only emboldened her attackers who stepped up the ferocity of their crazed mob-like assault.

We love to sand atop our soap boxes and proclaim our love for, and defense of, freedom of speech in America.

We're lying!

You want to wind up like Ms. Deen?  Try speaking your mind openly in America today.  Freedom of speech in America today is saying only that which those in power agree with.
Look.  Ms. Deen's attackers are hammering her for using a single word thirty years ago -- in PRIVATE!  What the heck do you suppose will happen to US today if we step out side the traces -- what with our government's 24/7 monitoring of everything we say and do?  Something I say today can be pulled out of the government files -- thirty years down the road -- and used against me.

So -- this is where we are in America today.  I have to tell you -- this is pathetic.  I suppose it just puts the lie to the very old adage: "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but WORDS can never hurt me."

How pathetic, how weak, how sissified, we have become when we recoil in utter horror at the sound of a single WORD, a simple utterance of sound.

But here's the thing: Much, if not most, of that horror is feigned!  I dare say if the host of Deen's attackers were held to the biblical test of "he who is without sin cast the first stone" -- the crowd would melt away.  Of course, in this day and age, when psychopaths hold respectable places in our communities and our society,  there are those tossing stones with great enthusiasm, all the while loudly proclaiming their defense of the defenseless and demanding that we all pay attention to, and praise them for,  the zeal with which they practice their high tech lynching of an honorable woman.

There are two lessons here for all American young people.   Avoid honesty at all costs.  For, as we have seen with Ms. Deen, being honest can cost you dearly. And secondly, forget freedom of speech.  The constitution is dead. Today you may only utter the words approved by the political left -- or suffer the consequences.

And yes, I am a southern gentleman offering a defense of a southern lady's honor.  I'm old-fashioned that way.  I suspect, had we not outlawed dueling, there would be echoes of gunfire and/or the clash of dueling rapiers along the Savannah River at sunrise.

Make no mistake.  This is a seminal event. The seeds for future modern day lynchings have been sown now.  Worse even, the seeds of FEAR have been sown --  fear of words, which are nothing more than THOUGHTS.

The thought police are abroad in the land seeking those they can devour who, like Ms. Deen, used a word they are forbidden to use due to the color of their skin.  Does  anyone see the irony in this?  No.  The REAL question is:  Does anyone see the bigotry in this?  For, after all, that is EXACTLY what it is.

Perplexing immigration issues and some clarity on global warming

Posted on 6:58 AM by Unknown

Come to the USA

If you’re thinkin’ about illegal immigration,
Be careful when you’re choosin’ the nation
‘Cause breakin’ the law in some countries is frowned upon.
Imagine that.

Sneak into China and they’ll call you a spy
And ship you to Mongolia till you die.
And in Sudan they’ll hang you and the camel you rode in on.

Yeah, and don’t go ahikin’ and enter Iran,
Or you might never be heard from again.
And in Mexico, you might face a firing squad.

Yeah, and forget all about going to North Korea.
That’s a great example of a bad idea,
So when it comes down to it, there’s only one option you got.

Yeah come to the USA.
There's no penalty to pay
Should you get caught illegally immigratin

Those lyrics from Ray Stevens' "Come to the USA" YouTube video illustrate the stark difference in how some countries view people who sneak across their borders, compared to the USA.

The US now has 11-to-20 million immigrants that illegally crossed our borders or over-stayed their visas, and the US Congress, in an attempt to reward those illegal immigrants, is now debating various measures under the guise of "immigration reform" which could easily be even more destructive and costly than the Affordable Care Act.

There is little agreement among our Senators and Representatives about what to do. Ideas being floated range from plain amnesty to plans to convert illegals to legal status and create a path to citizenship, and most pay a bit of lip service to securing the borders. Since they take such a friendly approach to people who are here illegally, these measures are viewed as a form of amnesty, and amnesty failed miserably in 1986. Any act that gives illegals an advantage over the 4 million people waiting in line who entered legally isn’t fair.

An exhaustive study by the Heritage Foundation has found that after amnesty, current illegal immigrants would receive $9.4 trillion in government benefits and services but pay only about $3 trillion in taxes over their lifetimes, leaving a deficit of $6.3 trillion that would be paid for by another big increase in government debt or by raising taxes on those who still pay taxes.

Further, some of the people who have entered illegally are criminals, and perhaps a few terrorists in the mix, and we have to continue rooting out the bad among those millions and secure the border to prevent others like them from sneaking in.

Our government has acted stupidly and negligently over the years allowing national security to suffer by failing to secure the borders. That has to stop now, before any measure to legalize illegals proceeds.

More Inconvenient Truth

Dr. Roy Spencer has serious climate credentials dating back to 1981 that involve research at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, and award-winning climate studies for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. His research has been entirely supported by the U.S. government through NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Department of Energy.

He has produced a graph based upon 73 separate climate change prediction models that shows the full high/low range of those predictions of increasing global temperatures from 1979 through 2024, as well as the median prediction of those models. These datasets show predictions of global temperatures rising as much as 2 degrees Celsius (C) over that period, and about 1.5 degrees C by 2012.

These predictions shouldn’t surprise anyone; they are the similar to the dozens, hundreds or thousands of news stories of impending global catastrophe if drastic steps are not taken immediately to stop man’s upward pressure on global temperatures. And certainly if these models are accurate and we refuse to take steps to control greenhouse gas emissions, we will be negligent.

“And now,” as the great commentator Paul Harvey used to say, “for the rest of the story.”

Dr. Spencer uses the same graph to show the results of actual temperature observations from balloons and satellites from 1979 through 2012. These observations use actual measurements of temperatures that occasionally show cooling periods or static results, but most of which over the last decade show increases in temperature.

Most important, however, is that even in the years from 2003 through 2012 when the warming trend has been the most consistent, the actual rise in temperature is only .2 degrees C, well below the predicted level of .6 to .8 degrees, and a mere fraction of the highest of the range of predicted increases of 1.3 to 1.5 degrees C.

In explaining this dramatic difference between prediction and reality, Dr. Spencer notes that “to many politicians and the public, the term [global warming] carries the implication that mankind is responsible for that warming. … [M]y group’s government-funded research … suggests global warming is mostly natural, and that the climate system is quite insensitive to humanity’s greenhouse gas emissions and aerosol pollution.”

He goes on to say that, “Believe it or not, very little research has ever been funded to search for natural mechanisms of warming … it has simply been assumed that global warming is manmade.”

God Bless America ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 10:15 PM by Unknown
God Bless America
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************

Yes, Virginia, America WAS once FREE.

Those of us born before the Second World War have fond memories of the halcyon days of America.  America stepped right from the Great Depression into a world war. In fact, the depression wasn't over at the time America entered the war.  After the war, after the world was "made safe for democracy," there were days of peace and prosperity for Americans.

We are about just a few days away from celebrating America's birthday, the Fourth of July.  Once again, we will be celebrating a fraud.

The movement to enslave America and make her citizens serfs to the state began on an April day in 1865 at a little place called Appomattox Court House, Virginia.  From that point on in our history Americans lost freedom after freedom, liberty after liberty through a process known as incrementalism. (A little bit at a time)   One hundred and forty-eight years later -- we are vassals of the state.

"Dishonesty from politicians is nothing new for Americans. The real question is whether we are lying to ourselves when we call this country the land of the free."
Those words were written by Jonathan Turley a Shapiro professor of public interest law at George Washington University.  They are from an article written by Professor Turley and published by the Washington Times on January 13th, 2012.

In the Article Professor Turley says: "Even as we pass judgment on countries we consider unfree, Americans remain confident that any definition of a free nation must include their own — the land of free. Yet, the laws and practices of the land should shake that confidence. In the decade since Sept. 11, 2001, this country has comprehensively reduced civil liberties in the name of an expanded security state. The most recent example of this was the National Defense Authorization Act, signed Dec. 31, which allows for the indefinite detention of citizens. At what point does the reduction of individual rights in our country change how we define ourselves?"  Source:  http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-01-13/opinions/35440628_1_individual-rights-indefinite-detention-citizens

Professor Turley goes on to enumerate a few of the ways we Americans have lost so much of our liberty to the state such as: Assassination of U.S. citizens, Indefinite detention, Arbitrary justice, Warrantless searches, War crimes, Secret court, Immunity from judicial review, Continual monitoring of citizens, and Extraordinary renditions.  (Remember -- this article was written over a year before the most recent revelations of government overreach became public knowledge and congressional hearings began.   ...   Editor)
Professor Turley points out: "An authoritarian nation is defined not just by the use of authoritarian powers, but by the ability to use them. If a president can take away your freedom or your life on his own authority, all rights become little more than a discretionary grant subject to executive will." SOURCE:  http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-01-13/opinions/35440628_1_individual-rights-indefinite-detention-citizens/3

"Since 9/11, we have created the very government the framers feared: a government with sweeping and largely unchecked powers resting on the hope that they will be used wisely,"
says Professor Turley.

We recommend you read Professor Turley's article in its entirety.  It is titled:  "10 reasons the U.S. is no longer the land of the free." You will find it at: http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-01-13/opinions/35440628_1_individual-rights-indefinite-detention-citizens

I came across a video of the introduction of the great hymn "God Bless America" recently.  It is a clip from an old movie and it features that great American, Kate Smith, introducing and singing God Bless America for the very first time.  It brought a tear to my eyes as I watched and listened to a different time in this country. I also spotted an actor who would later become what many feel was the last REAL President of the United States.

Here is the link to that video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnQDW-NMaRs

If you want to make your day, take a few minutes to watch and listen to that video.  Fair warning:  Get out the tissue and an extra handkerchief.

The patriotism portrayed in that clip was real.  We didn't wear our patriotism on our sleeves nor on our lapels -- we LIVED it!  It was alive in our hearts. We didn't mind if a tear trickled down our cheeks as we sang the National Anthem. It was the common honesty and integrity of men and women who loved their country to their core.

That was MY America -- and it is the America I miss sorely.

I Want To Be Free! ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 10:04 PM by Unknown
I Want To Be Free!
Bring Back the Magna Carta!
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

***************

I have had it, up to the gills, with the federal government acting as some sort of over-protective parent or nanny. I just want to be let alone! In other words -- I want what the US Constitution is supposed to guarantee me. I want to be FREE!

Just leave me, the h**l, alone!

Pathetic, huh?  You bet it is.

The last thing you're gonna get in America today is --- let alone!

Heck, we even fought a war over it and over 700,000 Americans lost their lives because a
portion of the country asked -- and then insisted -- upon being let alone.

"We feel that our cause is just and holy; we protest solemnly in the face of mankind that we desire peace at any sacrifice save that of honor and independence; we seek no conquest, no aggrandizement, no concession of any kind from the States with which we were lately confederated; all we ask is to be let alone; that those who never held power over us shall not now attempt our subjugation by arms."  Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, Monday, April 29, 1861.

Well, we all know how THAT turned out.

It should have been a tip-off as to the direction the US would be taking during and after the war.  And it WAS.

For those who have spent the time and devoted themselves to the study of that period of US history it is obvious that the southern states where suspicious that the US was moving toward a far stronger central government than they were comfortable with -- what with their Celtic ancestry.  But that's another story for another time.

I nearly wrote that "we'd made full circle" ... but we haven't ... not really.  In fact, ever since the American Civil War the United States government has grown ever stronger squeezing the personal freedom and liberty of all Americans into a smaller and smaller box.

Today we find ourselves without privacy, our lives laid bare before the prying eyes and

ears of the government -- in and out of our homes.  The Fourth Amendment to the constitution has been all but shredded.  American citizens are now approaching the conditions Englishmen were enduring as vassals to their king before the Magna Carta which was signed 798 years ago this month (on June 15th).

The Great Charter of the Liberties of England "was the first document forced onto a King of England by a group of his subjects, the feudal barons, in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges."  SOURCE:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta

The Magna Carta is extremely important to Americans as England's legal system was used as a model for most of the American colonies in developing their own legal systems.

Back when our public school system, oft referred to today as the "government school system," taught REAL history, not the revisionist propaganda they teach today, every American schoolboy knew that the Magna Carta influenced the early settlers in New England and inspired later constitutional documents, including the United States Constitution.

Ask an American schoolboy today about the Magna Carta and you are likely to get remarks referencing a large bore hand gun or a powerful all terrain vehicle, uh, between the blank stares, that is.

Yes, Americans are cursed with repeating history.  This should explain why we so-called "senior citizens" sometimes appear so smart.  It's not that we are any smarter than anyone else.  It is simply that we are able to predict the future by knowing what Americans have, as a lot, not paid heed to in the past.  We recognize it -- and call it -- with a great deal of accuracy.  It's really quite easy. It just SEEMS like magic.

I have concluded it is going to take another Magna Carta moment pretty much as they experienced in England in 1215 to force, yes, I said FORCE, our government back within the prescribed parameters of the US Constitution.  Once they have tasted corrupt power, rogue governments rarely, if ever, voluntarily give that power up.  Americans can expect a fight to the bitter end in any contest to reclaim their freedom and liberty from our "progressive overlords."

Frankly, I believe America needs a Great Reformer in the mold of Brother Marin Luther,

who (in my opinion) saved the Christian church from the rot at its core, to (metaphorically) nail the constitution to the door of the US Supreme Court, the doors of the US Senate, the House of Representatives, and the front door of the White House.

You may recall that Luther lived his life afterwards under a death threat.  But he never recanted. NEVER.

It will take a leader with the character, the strength, the determination, the belief that he is right, and the fearlessness of an archangel, and, most importantly -- a reluctance to place himself above other men, to spearhead a successful movement to reclaim the constitutional rights of Americans.

The freedom movement in America is nearing a critical mass.  The government knows it and has been preparing for the coming American apocalypse for some time now.   They know it will be a cataclysmic event.

Yet one thing is lacking -- that leader we described above for America's freedom movement.  When he appears on the scene -- and he will -- the curtain will go up.
Neither side is assured of victory.  We can only pray God that freedom wins out.

Obama's "Ban the Bomb Bluster" ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 10:32 PM by Unknown
Obama's "Ban the Bomb Bluster"
"No Bomb Obama"
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************

One thing about the Hippie generation, they are relentless. Even after the air headed-ness of their ideas has been exposed for decades they continue to press on, and on, and on, ad infinitum.

Heck, we have a President of the US actually making a fool of himself all over the globe, even today, pressing forward the "Ban the Bomb" agenda of the 1960's "flower children."

It is so close to ridiculous that it is no longer funny.

Now known in some parts of the world as "No Bomb Obama," he has most recently been chasing Russia's Vladimir Putin around trying to demonstrate just how "flexible" he (Obama) can be ... now that he has been reelected, and all.

You may recall that the UN Security Council, back in September of 2009, unanimously approved a US-drafted, Obama-authored resolution in New York committing to work towards a world without nuclear weapons.  I am still embarrassed by that.

Banning the "A" bomb has never really made a whole lot of sense to me since it is not the ultimate weapon anymore, if it ever was.

Think about it a moment.  Even in the closing days of the Second World War, as the US was bombing the living daylights out of Japan,  the Allies were inflicting far more damage and killing far more of the enemy's people with conventional bombs, especially those "fire bombs" (The incendiary bombs we dropped on Japan's cities.)  Earlier, in Germany, the city of Dresden became a maelstrom of death and destruction by high explosive and incendiary bombs.  It became a literal "hurricane of fire" -- and death.

No. The Nuclear Free World mantra is just another of those warm and fuzzy "sayings" or philosophies put forth by the political left, the world over, to press forward their march to Utopia, an imaginary place considered to be perfect or ideal, AND the mythical land of Nirvana, a  place of complete bliss and delight and peace.

No matter that it is all Bovine Scatology. It is their "pipe" dream and they insist on maintaining it.  Problem is -- they also insist on aggravating the real world half to death with their perpetual rantings about it.

Back in 2009 Obama is reported to have stated:  "We harbor no illusions about the difficulty of bringing about a world without nuclear weapons. We know there are plenty of cynics, and that there will be setbacks to prove their point. But there will also be days like today that push us forward - days that tell a different story. It is the story of a world that understands that no difference or division is worth destroying all that we have built and all that we love." SOURCE:  http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2009-09-24/us/28063316_1_nuclear-security-summit-nuclear-weapons-resolution

Obama is insistent upon reducing America's nuclear arsenal as an example to the remainder of the nuclear club nations of the world in the HOPE they will be converted into true believers with those cute little daises protruding from the barrels of their soldier's AK-47's.

Pathetic.

If Obama wants to stop the proliferation of nuclear bombs, may we suggest that he get off the dime and bomb the dickens out of Iran's nuclear facilities -- post haste.  We've fiddled around with the Persians for far longer than was necessary -- OR prudent.

The Middle Eastern regional war Obama claims to be so frightened of igniting with a raid on Iran's nuclear bomb making plant(s) is already in the making in a place called Syria. Now that he has introduced -- OVERTLY  -- American assistance to the rebels there, that excuse is gone, especially when one considers Iran's introduction of some 4,000 of their troops into the Syrian civil war on the side of the Syrian tyrant Assad. That figure does not take into account the thousands of irregular Iranian troops fighting for Assad, as well.

So, why wait any longer to strike Iran?  Is Obama setting the US up to lose a fourth war in the Middle East?  (Count 'em:  Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and possibly Iran)

Seems to me, Obama's campaign to reduce America's nuclear arsenal is just another avenue he is taking to reduce America's standing in the world and lay our necks bare to the blades of our enemies.

New Immigration Reform Bill IS AMNESTY! ... J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 11:03 PM by Unknown
New Immigration Reform Bill IS AMNESTY!
Forget Securing the Border!
Betrayal of the American People?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************************
Again, it would appear, we have been fed another LIE.

Consider this:  “Let’s be clear,” Rubio said. “Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence.” (Emphasis mine)  SOURCE:  http://www.wnd.com/2013/06/gop-lawmaker-rubio-using-weasel-words/

Those are the words of Senator Marco Rubio as he spoke them in Spanish a few days ago before a Univision audience.

If Rubio was ever a true conservative he has made the fastest turn around in recorded history.  He is now holding, tenuously, onto "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) and leaning, hard, toward liberal!

Rubio was the guy the Tea Party poured so much time, effort, and money (not to mention HOPE) into, only to have him turn on them and go rogue.

Mr. Rubio may feel their ire as the possibility of his becoming a "short-timer" in the Senate is coming into focus.  There are some very angry Tea Partiers and some very happy leftist democrats in Florida who would welcome Mr. Rubio back home ... permanently. The word "sellout" is being heard on a somewhat regular basis these days as a description of Senator Rubio.

Another RINO in the Senate, this one from South Carolina, where conservatives are absolutely furious at him -- and chomping at the bit to get to a ballot box -- is predicting the immigration reform bill will pass with at least 70 votes. Senator Lindsey Graham said recently on NBC's Meet The Press:  " ... the Senate will give the reform bill — which currently has a path to citizenship for the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants — overwhelming support.

“I think we are going to get plus 70 votes. I've never been more optimistic about it.”

Graham said passing the bill is a political necessity for the GOP.  SOURCE:   http://thehill.com/video/senate/305827-graham-predicts-breakthrough-passage-of-immigration-bill-with-over-70-votes#ixzz2WTxFROwI

I'm a native of the great state of South Carolina and still have a few contacts there even after an absence of some 50 years.  They tell me the voters of South Carolina are outraged at Graham's adoption of the RINO philosophy, his close association with the Senate's archrino, John McCain, and are looking to bring Graham home when next he stands for election.

To simply say South Carolina is "conservative" and or "republican" is a vast understatement.  Once outside the city limits of Charleston and Columbia, even South Carolina democrats are conservative -- to one degree or another.  Senator Graham, whether he knows it or not, is in deep trouble at home, if my sources are anywhere near correct.

Now that Rubio has let the cat out of the bag about amnesty/citizenship first being the aim of the immigration reform bill, and that border security is NOT to be assured first, I suspect more voters than ever will be watching their senators very closely to see how they maneuver on this con game being run on the American people by the progressives -- of both parties -- in the US Senate.

From the Washington Times on Tuesday June 18th, 2013, we learn this:
Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built.

The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.  SOURCE:  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jun/18/senate-rejects-border-fence/

Consider this from Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma:  “This is an amnesty bill that fails to address the serious problems and dire need for reform that is plaguing the U.S. immigration system."  SOURCE:  http://www.inhofe.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/inhofe-immigration-bill-may-weaken-current-law

Over in the House of Representatives, Speaker John Boehner is reported to have said that immigration reform is his top priority and that he may allow the bill to be brought to the floor without majority support. Already, republican voices are being heard demanding that Speaker Boehner lose his job as Speaker if he allows this to happen.

Many in Washington suspect there is a leadership plan to attempt to push the immigration reform bill through both houses BEFORE the Senators and Congresspersons leave DC for summer recess when they are sure to be confronted by their voters at home.

I cannot fathom how any government can even consider gracing anyone who is a known lawbreaker with amnesty for his/her crimes and confer citizenship upon that person to boot. In the real word they would be rounded up, locked-up, and in some cases, deported.  In other cases, they must stand trial, serve their sentence if found guilty, THEN be deported at the completion of their sentence.

There is no deal the American people will accept that does not include securing the border. So far as this scribe is concerned, the ONLY bill I will support is a bill securing the border -- period.  I cannot, under any set of circumstances I can conjure up, support amnesty or citizenship for anyone breaking into our country.  NONE.

There is right and there is wrong.  What the political leadership of America is trying to foist on the American people is WRONG and every last Senator or Congressperson supporting the Immigration Reform Bill should be voted out of office when next they stand for reelection.

There is no room for compromise here.  This is as clear cut a choice as ever there was. It is a choice between right and wrong.

It seems to me that it says a lot about a people when the leaders they have elected actually feel they must discuss whether to do something that is right or something that is wrong, something that is good, or something that is bad.  It says, frankly, that moral relativism has replaced God-given common sense and the ability to discern good from bad and right from wrong.  Ultimately, it says we are a people bent on self destruction and that we will accept no other choice.

Look.  If we can dig a ditch from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean, called the Panama Canal, we can, sure as heck, build a wall from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.   Senators:  Introduce a bill to that effective and watch the support pile up and your numbers at home sky rocket!

Of course, it won't happen. That takes the kind of courage no longer found in the halls of Congress.

We can reform immigration, right  now, by simply stopping ALL immigration.  Pull the plug.  Hang a sign around Lady Liberty's copper neck saying:  "Closed Temporarily." Then take as much time as is necessary to build the wall along the southern border, and make it far more difficult to immigrate LEGALLY.  If it takes a decade or two, or three, fine.  Make a real effort to get it right this time.

The plain truth is that if we don't do it, we will be revisiting this issue every few years with the same heated passions on both sides as there is today.  All the while, we will be suffering the largest land invasion in the history of the North American continent.
